The amount of bitterness in this thread is hilarious.

Pretty much, it's been hilarious to me since I've joined. The amount of jealousy some of the fans here have of the best player in hockey is just mind blowing.

2 goals and 2 assists.

Damn. I guess it's his way of saying, "I'm back, please suck it haters."

However, I still can't stand him for the same reasons stated above. I never denied his talent!

Even with Zetterberg's struggles this season, I'd still take him against Golden Boy as well.

Watching croby's intensity in his first game back really makes me question the heart on this wings team right now. I know hes missed a lot of hockey and has probably been chomping at the bit to play...but when's the last time you saw Z or Dats with that type of energy in a game this season? I can't wait to play the pens now so that we might see our guys pumped up to play a game for once.

The amount of continued cluelessness in your posts regarding this subject is mind blowing.

There's a difference between matching up against a player and saying who's better.

Sure, Crosby's the most talented offensive hockey player in the world and would certainly score much more than Zetterberg over a full season no matter what teams both of them are on. But, that doesn't mean Z can't shut him down in a direct head-to-head match-up.

So yeah, I'd still take Z over Crosby if they were matched against each other in a playoff series. Unless he really has some nagging injury or something, I think Zetterberg can still be almost as effective as he already has been in the playoffs the last four, five years.

I might be being too much of a homer, but I can still honestly say Hank's a much, much better defensive forward than Crosby. Everything I just said goes for Datsyuk as well.

I forgot. Zetterberg outplayed Crosby in a playoff series 4 years ago, back when Crosby was like 21. And a lot of that credit should go to our team defense in general.

He did outplay Crosby, but that doesn't hold much water if we're talking about the here and now.

Nice game back for the Kid. Giving him deserved props.

No, that doesn't mean I like him.

"Very few cities in the NHL have the history or the following of the Detroit Red Wings." - Steve Yzerman

I'll amend my previous statement. Crosby played his first game against a team that:

1) Is separated from the lowly Blue Jackets by only one point.
2) Was playing its FOURTH-STRING (!!) goaltender.

I'm not hugely impressed. Also, both of Sidney's goals were easily stoppable by an experienced goalie.

It's a bold statement Wings fans don't like to hear, but seriously, who's better than Crosby on the Wings? Who has a better resumé?

We have this guy named Lidstrom. Not many people have a better resume than him.
I don't get why people dismiss defensemen when talking about all-time greats. It always goes to "the greatest defensemen". Sure he has declined some now at 41 but if we are talking about over-all, which I assume you are, since you said "resume", not many beat Nick, to me, he is right behind Gordie Howe in greatest Red Wings players all time and is in the conversation with Gretzky, Lemieux, Gordie, Orr, etc for greatest all time players.

World's worst GM.

World's only person who thinks that Crosby is a good defensive forward, or who thinks that Crosby is great at scoring when Zetterberg is matched up against him.

I will admit it, I Despise Crosby.

Not because he is good at hockey and occasionally beats my favorite team.

Not because he Whines a lot

THIS IS WHY...

I could swear at first look it looks Photoshopped, but it isn't and please take note to my favorite part. The "Top Headlines" section on the right.

"NHLN-US to re-air the Crosby Classic, 1 ET Tuesday"

So this game just became the Crosby Classic, jesus its seriously is just becoming a joke with how much they are trying to shove him down the Casual NHL fans throat. The hardcore fans that have been here through thick and thin are the ones that are starting to get pissed of by it.

Great first game back for Sid, but yeah... it was the Islanders people. You know the franchise that hasn't been good in like 20+ years. Plus, with their 4th string rookie goalie to boot. He always done exceptionally well against this team. A couple years ago Ovechkin had him by 10 points, Crosby played the Isles twice, and they were tied. Talk about his "greatness" when he's not blowing up the Isles or Leafs.
