GMRwings1983 8,794 Report post Posted December 18, 2011 Hudler is on pace to basically be the player we wanted him to be last season. I don't get all the complaining about him. I didn't calculate the math exactly, but isn't he on pace for 55-65ish points? Because he's horribly inconsistent. For every 10 games where he puts up points, he goes 10 more where he isn't even visible on the ice. He doesn't bring it every night. His inconsistencies have been even more pathetic in the last few playoffs he's played in. 1 Konnan511 reacted to this

I didn't calculate the math exactly, but isn't he on pace for 55-65ish points? +1 I wanted him traded during that stretch where he just flat out sucked. If he played like this last season, no one would want him traded because when he left he was a fan favorite. edit: Though about it, he's only real downfall this season is his inconsistency (point wise). He's lazy when he is good and he is lazy when he is bad. hwen he's scoring, people overlook the lazy part, when he isn't, it's the reason people (including me) want him gone. Because he's horribly inconsistent. For every 10 games where he puts up points, he goes 10 more where he isn't even visible on the ice. He doesn't bring it every night. But if you want him gone because he floats and is inconsistent, then Franzen should be shipped off as well.
Guest Crymson Report post Posted December 18, 2011 He doesn't bring it every night. His inconsistencies have been even more pathetic in the last few playoffs he's played in. Really? In 2008, he played exclusively on the fourth line and had five goals and nine assists, including that vital goal in game four of the SCF. In 2009, he played on the third line and scored four goals and eight assists. This sort of production is what is expected of Hudler. He did suck in the playoffs last season, for sure, but this was not the case in the prior two playoffs he participated in. 1 P. Bring Back The Bruise Bros 1,029 Report post Posted December 18, 2011 Hopefully for Ottawa, Michalek isn't out too long. Runblad was the odd man out with Carkner just getting back. Ottawa currently sits 4th in the Northeast, but just 1 point behind both Toronto and Buffalo.

You hate Hudler more than anyone around here, except for LefWinger. Now you're getting all excited because he's on a bit of a streak (where we're scoring 6 or 7 goals in seemingly every game). how many wingers with a cap hit of less than $3 million are consistent? Well, then it's OK for him to be lazy at times and not compete. My bad. As for the Franzen argument someone brought up earlier, Franzen is a lot better than Hudler and more proven in the playoffs. He is a lazy floater, but trading him would be a bigger gamble than moving Hudler. It would have to be the right situation.
