Howard won this game for us.

We gave up over 40 shots and our soft Euros got handled by Boston's forwards all game long. We can't beat a team like them or San Jose over a 7 game series because of our lack of physicality and ability to handle the forecheck consistently. The turnovers were rampant today.

So many people hate on Bert but when it comes to a shootout everybody loves him. Such a good game to watch, better to win, and the best part was the my two favorites scored in the shootout. :w00t2:

Great game by Howard (minus the miscue behind the net), and Dats. I thought Cleary looked good. Homer had another great game. If Mule were as fearless as Holmstrom, he'd be a 50 goal scorer.

Zetterberg alternated from looking good to being awful. He had the great assist on Flips goal, the smart play on Bertuzzi's great chance, and other good plays. Then it looked like he forgot how to handle the puck.

Wings definitely got on their heels when the Bruins stepped up the physical game, but they bent but didn't break.

Olczyk can suck it. His dislike of the Wings when commentating is palpable. So can Chara. Good on Dats for being fearless and hitting him back. I wish more Wings players followed his lead. And I wish our D men would bury guys like Chara did to Datsyuk.

Two stolen point for sure.

Actually, the commentators were blowing Lidstrom all game long, like they usually do.

And people here always complain about too much Crosby love during his games. We have our own media loved players too. You could throw Datsyuk in there as well.

That was Doc and McGuire. Maybe Olczyk a little bit. But he kept pointing out penalties on the Wings that should've been called. Like when Abby (I think it was) knocked a Bruiin down and Eddie said it was interference.

Except the Boston player had the puck.

I like Doc and can tolerate McGuire. But Olczyk really does seem not to be able to set aside his bias against Detroit.

I think Cleary is finally getting over the upper body injury he had at the start of the season. He looked better today imho as well. Homer has a huge pair. When he retires, transplanting them on Franzen would yield amazing results.

Z had a great play to set up Fil but that giveaway for the 2nd Boston goal was the worst play I can recall him making in ages. Still there were other sweet plays he made like the Bert chance. I wonder if he isn't 100% healthy. Or maybe it's a Samson effect since he isn't rocking the full beard ATM.

Handled?

The Datsyuk line was dominant tonight. Zetterberg had a terrible game, though.
