Mantha is 3rd in world championship scoring with 9 pts (5 goals) in 4 games.

Hronek is the top socring Dman with 7 pts (3 goals) in 4 games.

Next season if Larkin can hit 70-80 pts again
Bertuzzi/Mantha/AA can each hit 60 pts
Hronek hits like 40ish pts
Plus add Rasmussen/Svechnikov/Zadina/Veleno/Cholowski as wild cards

Looks like the beginnings of a playoff team if goaltending holds up

Hoping we can “suck” one more year and land a top 5 pick cause the 2020 draft is seriously good , nice 2019 and 2020 drafts and I think we’re ready to make some noise in 2020-2021

No Dahlin, Svechnikov, Hughes, Kakko. You owe us LaFreniere next year NHL.

As much as I’d like lafraniere , Lucas Raymond looked amazing for Sweden and Alexander holtz as well, theres Anton Lindell as well and that Russian goalie among others I just want a top 5 pick

Call me crazy, but if the young guys continue to improve, and if Yzerman nabs a RFA via offer sheet, and/or signs a 'decent' UFA...Me thinks we'll be playoff bound this time next season.

I'm not sure if we will be by next season, but definitely by 2020-21.

Expect UFA's to come calling!

Also, please NO RFA offer sheets.

Yeah, I doubt there'll be any offer sheets, but I think some GM (not necessarily Yzerman) should offer sheet Kapanen for $4.2M... and not just because I want the Leafs f***ed over... I think it could be a low risk, high reward signing.

I hope so!

It's funny, going into this tournament I was all like "It'd be really great if we could have a few of our young guys tear s*** up in front of a big non-Wings audience. But that won't happen, because Wings." I've just kind of gotten used to the Wings having low-key, under-the-radar, non-spectacular young players. I'm absolutely loving this change of pace.

Combine that with the whole "Yzerman is the best GM in the league" thing (not sure I agree, but a lot of people seem to feel it's true) and the Wings are maybe kinda sorta starting to become a nice destination for top UFAs again.

I wouldn't mind seeing Kapanen in a Wings jersey...Chances are he'll get nothing more than $2 million (possibly less), and I'm sure he'd entertain the thought of a 2, or 3 year deal for $3 to $3.5 million, and it would only cost us a 2nd rounder.
