By the numbers Howard is one of the top tenders in the league but can he keep the numbers he has if he dosnt rest? Everyone has there opinions on what we need to win the cup, I feel that it will be tough for us if we don't get a #2 goalie that can win us some games. Can Howard have enough left in the tank to take us deep into the playoffs with the amount of games that he plays?

Who knows. But, from the way he's played in his seasons as the Red Wing's No.1 goalie UP TO NOW, they're better off riding him hard and putting him away wet. And maybe that was more true than not over the PAST few seasons when he was young and in-NHL-experienced. Continued overplaying of the still young Jimmy-Jim-Jimbo will eventually result in a falloff but until it does play him again, Babs!

I think we definately need a good back up so Howard can get a little rest. He's playing awesome right now but he might be a little too tired once we get deeper in the season. Then it will be really rough for him in the playoffs.
