Just Wow. I cannot believe the Wings pulled this one off. What a great 3rd period.
The Vladinator He earned the NHL Plus/Minus Award in 1995-96, with a plus/minus difference of plus-60. The +60 has been the highest rating a player has finished with in the past 20 seasons, since Wayne Gretzky finished with a +70 in the 1986-87 NHL season

White was a shot blocking machine on that last sequence. Great job by Howard, who definitely deserved the win. Good effort in the comeback. I'd honestly prefer to see them play with the lead instead, though. ;)

jimmy held us in the game
defense needs to tighten up for sure

That was indeed epic. Mad, mad scramble in the Wings' zone those last 23 seconds. Great D by Lids as usual - he kept two pucks from getting to Howie.

End of game notes:
* Hitchcock should take some blood pressure medication - he looked apoplectic the last 6 minutes of the game.
* St. Louis played a spectacular game, albeit cheap. Their double standard is mind-blowing.
* Arnott can kiss my lily white ass. He's as big a ****** as Jackman.

Can't wait to read the "Phoenix: I still think it's a hockey market" chapter of Gary Bettman's autobiography. I'm guessing it's going to be chapter 11.

Ya, I cannot understand why good players have to present themselves as and whine and cry like a baby, or run around taking cheapshots and liberties on players and tarnish what could be their own greatness. Arnott, Jackman, Backes, these guys are great players, but they have to be idiots on the ice. Just like Pronger and Thornton. If they would stop the cheapshots and just play hockey and play legally without running around and then crying when someone gives them some medicine, they would be elite.

Interested to see how many blues fans (cprice?) will be calling Pav's hit on Jackass illegal and suspension worthy. Afterall, Steve Yzerman did purposely hurt Pronger, so why not Datsyuk's illegal shoulder to the head of Jackass? Physics anyone?

That is hockey. Nice to see an old-school game played on Mick's birthday :thumbup: He was lovin' it. When we play with determination like we did tonight, we are a force to be reckoned with, and tonight was a prime example.
