Happy New Year everyone! It's 2012 already here in Finland. Go Wings!

The injury report in the first post is outdated.

Oshie, Sobotka and Langenbrunner are all playing.
Steen is out with concussion-like symptoms.

Is Howard in net tonight?
Elliot is playing for St. Louis.

Our usual stream does not look like it's going up tonight. Any alternatives?

Edit: Nevermind, found one.

NYE hockey - no better way to ring in the new year.

I'm sorry for those watching this in HD - John Keating wearing a lime green tie and pocket square that leaps out off screen in regular TV. Can only imagine what it looks like in HD. He's been watching too much Don Cherry.

If both teams show up tonight, this could be epic. Can't wait. GO WINGS!!

*edit* Chelli honored tonight for induction into US HHOF - he's lost weight. Aren't they supposed to gain weight when they retire? :)
Can't wait to read the "Phoenix: I still think it's a hockey market" chapter of Gary Bettman's autobiography. I'm guessing it's going to be chapter 11.

Game on. Good setup by Hank early, and nice touch honoring Chelios of his US HHOF induction.
It's pronounced "Zim" not "Exim". Aw heck with it, just call me Scott.

Sure looks like Abby came to play tonight thus far. Nice dump and chase. Howie looking amped. Hasn't lost sight of the puck even though St. Louis is buzzing.

Good to see Abs in sparkplug mode. Sort of a cheap hit on Hank by Backes though. I'd love to see him Kronwalled worse than Havlat.

Almost Emmerton.

Red Wings PP on that high stick.

Nice setup by Nyquist for the post by Emmerton. One ping to check target range. High stick to Stuart. Make them pay early with a PP goal.

I agree with brett - offensively they look great, defensively they need work.
