52 shouldnt need anyone to step in for him. thats the wings toughness problem, they think they need someone to fight for them. bert, cleary, ericsson, abdelkader, etc should all be playing more physical and starting more s***.

E doesn't need anyone to step in. Team toughness is always having your teammate's back. Commie didn't need to step in, but him stepping in sends a message. You don't f*** with any of his teammates without going through him.

In the last 15ish years we have seen the same goalies play awesome and play like crap. Legace, Maracle and Joseph fall into those categories. Ozzy also comes close. People have their opinions on Vernon although I liked him.

What is consistent is our inconsistent goal tending over at least the last 30 years. We get bursts of brilliance from our guys and next thing you know they are playing for the Blues lol
