Could be an option if Doan is dealt.

I'm guessing that the original plan was for his wife to come live here, but it didn't pan out. There could be all sorts of reasons- maybe his step-daughter's dad didn't allow it or there were other issues that were out of his hands. I don't know. It's just speculation.
I do know that when I read that about him, that I got a totally new respect for him. A man who puts his family first is a great man in my book.

My money on the board pledge:
$1 for each goal scored by a player after whom I have named a hamster.
An additional $5 for each hat trick scored by a player after whom I have named a hamster.
An additional $10 if any of the above goals is the GWG goal that gives us the series win.
An additional $50 if it is the GWG that wins us the Cup.
$5 for a SO by Jimmy.
Hamsters' names (current players in RED): Henrik Pavel Tomas Nicklas Dominik
Niklas Matthieu Daniel Robert
Johan Andreas Valtteri Jonathan
Andrew Patrick Ian Todd
And introducing: Jordin Damien Gustav James
TOTAL SO FAR: $30

3,5 a year... not to shabby for him. he's decent but I'm not sure that it reflects his real value...

Brad Stuart >>>>>>>>>>>>> Willie Mitchell
Agree, but if Stuart's departure is inevitably Mitchell/Greene could fill his role+simply don't see us trading with San Jose and Anaheim

I'm not sure I agree. If he is it's not by a wide margin.Brad Stuart >>>>>>>>>>>>> Willie Mitchell
The biggest drawback with Mitchell is his health. But he plays a game similar to Stuart's and his honestly more physical in front of his own net. Plus he's got great reach with that Chara sized stick.
He's been great for LA this year. I don't know that they'd want to get rid of him unless it was a swap for Stuart. they need veteran presence and a stabilizing force and he's been both of those.

TRADE HIS RIGHTS!!! Love stewie to death but this is a business decision. If he wants to play in Cali then trade. Get anything we can for him, picks whatever. Don't think he'll go to the sharks....Their D is pretty set after the Burns addition. It'll be Ducks/Kings....thinking Ducks most likeley....could use another defensive D-man.
Yeah my sense is Anaheim too. But it's still three hours away from SJ.

Stuart is playing like he's already checked out.
Agreed. His passing has been brutal and he hasn't hit a guy hard in forever. Stewie was great in both runs to the finals minus one important game... but I believe it's time to move on after this season.
Brian McGrattan 2013. Get it done Kenny.
