Yeah, well, sometimes you have a great PP and don't score; sometimes you have a terrible PP and get a lucky one. It's a world of possibilities.

Teams make their own luck. Like, not taking 90% of PP shots from 5 ft inside the blueline is a good start at making your own luck better.

And sometimes luck is just luck. More of a philosophical argument anyways; I didn't think that last PP was anything to write home about. This one's shaping up to be pretty ugly too.

Pheonix collapses on the PK. The point is the best place for the Wings to get a shot. If you like, they can attempt to pass through the slot, but Pheonix will be ice it every time. You can't force the puck to the slot when the other team plays so close to their net.

WTF is it going to take for Mike Babcock to change the powerplay lines??! I am sick and tired of watching the powerplay units either spend the entire time trying to gain the zone, or when they are in the zone pass it way too much. He needs to freakin change the PP units up because they need to get going.

Zetterberg- Datsyuk- Homer on the top PP unit (Hank needs to shoot the puck not set others up and this unit has worked wonders on the PP so might as well try it out again)

Bert-Fil- Franzen (a more than capable 2nd unit)

Another problem I have with the top PP unit is White. I don't care the reason, there is no way White should be playing the top of the point while Nick skates inward ... if they are going to have a pointman move in on the PP then let White be the one because we need Lidstrom to be able to wire shots (I feel he has not been shooting enough on our powerplay the last while which is when our PP started to get crappy).

Analyze it all you like, but 0 for 3 on the PP is 0 for 3 on the PP. Change in strategy is required. I'd also be interested to know the shot block totals from that period.

Watching the Pheonix feed, interviewing goal scorer Raffi Torres and he says

" its not pretty, we just need to grind it out, but, f***..."

Pupils a little dialated there, Raffi?

Now we know what really goes on during the intermissions in the locker room. Grinding and butt *******!! Who knew?
