Just a stellar display of pitching and defense tonight. I'm starting to think Porcello may never figure it out on a regular basis. The entire bullpen is just absolutely terrible. It seems like the Tigers frickin waste high picks all the time on relievers and yet none of them develop.

I can't believe they haven't won two straight in nearly a month now. I hope this season turns out more like 2011 did than 2008. Right now it looks a lot like a talented team on paper that can't put it together.

I think I heard this correctly on the WCBS radio broadcast of the New York - Toronto game: going into last night, in their seven losses this month New York batters were 2 for 42 with runners in scoring position.

So how do you feel about year-long Interleague play next year?

"I love Interleague Play," Selig said. "It has been very beneficial for the sport. Our fans like it; our customers likes it and it's good. This weekend will be terrific with different matchups, not the normal geographical ones, but good ones."

Does this remind you of anybody from a different sport? This is "Selig's Folly".

Unfortunately I couldn't see it tonight, but what else is there to say about Justin Verlander? He could easily have five no-hitters or so by now. I remember a couple games last season where he got extremely close against the Indians and Angels. Those are just off the top of my head too, so I'm sure there's more where he has gone deep and just barely missed it.

Once in a lifetime talent. He's such a treat to watch.

Verlander is such a beast. Tough break giving up his first hit with one out in the 9th but he still dominated once again. The man is unbelievable.

Just got home from my little weekend trip to Detroit and Ohio, was fortunate enough to be at the JV game on Friday... absolutely electric! Wow, seeing that beast pitch in person is truly incredible.

That's awesome, I bet it was pretty electric, it's a shame you didn't get to witness the no-no.

I can't recall being at a baseball game when a pitcher was even close to a no hitter or a perfect game.

Can either replace Valverde? The closing situation in Detroit is dicey at best. Dotel....13 teams or something like that. Jose got lucky as hell last year...this year it's all catching up to him.
