But they summed it up okay in the article I've linked. This may be an interesting time for the Bruins, I don't think Rask has what it takes to take them far into the playoffs. Din758 371 Report post Posted January 25, 2012 I would totally agree that Rask cant take them far in the playoffs. didnt he blow it big time a couple years ago? 15-11 in AHL playoffs 7-6 in 2010 NHL playoffs. under .500 last year regular season decent stats this year but theyre stacked. Rask has played 13 Playoff games with a SV% of .912 and a 2.61 GAA Looking at recent Cup winners' playoff stats: 2008 Osgood SV% of .930 and a 1.55 GAA over 1100 minutes played 2009 Fleury SV% of .908 and a .261 GAA over 1400 minutes played 2010 Niemi SV% of .910 and a 2.63 GAA over 1300 minutes played 2011 Thomas SV% of .935 and a 1.98 GAA over 1400 minutes played Looking at Rask's playoff stats: SV% of .912 and a 2.61 GAA just over 800 minutes played I'm not saying he isn't good, but he's not time tested like the previous examples. No one else even had a chance. He was awesome for them several years ago, then Rask took his job, then last year he took it back from Rask and won the Cup and Conn Smythe, and now they want him out again. Like I said, I tried to find this on the Boston Globe (the source that Deadspin reported it from) but it seems they have a pay wall so I was unable to actually grab the article, I'm currently looking for other outlets of this piece of news. Dominator2005 558 Report post Posted February 3, 2012 Boston would be utterly mental if they were to deal Thomas away...Rask may be the "future" in about 2 to 4 years from now, but in all honesty this is Thomas' team, and if Bruins want a chance to repeat - it'll be with Thomas in net.
