Sprsquirt7 45 Report post Posted January 25, 2012 I recently bought tickets to the april 7th game at the jla. I've never been and my dad wanted me to see it before its no longer around. I bought the tickets through stub hub, which I've never had a problem with before. The tickets came quickly but I just want to make sure that they are real. They are mostly red and a littlle white. No pictures of players. And they look somewhat cheaply made. Do these sound like general 200 level seats tickets? I would hate to drive 6 hours and have them be fake. Is there a way to verify the validity of them? Besides that any advice on places to stay (hotels) or places to grab dinner? Possibly get some drinks after the game? Just general must see's and do's. Any advice is appreciated.
Wingsequallife13 8 Report post Posted January 26, 2012 I think only pictures of players come on season tickets. I'm sure they are just on the general BOCA ticket stock the Wings use. If you got them through stubhub I wouldn't worry. As far as hotels I don't know. I would probably get something more out of the city like around the troy/royal oak area. Food there are plenty of places to eat included Hockeytown.

I've gotten everything from season ticks to just a plain red ticket through the...however, Take the phone number with you just in case....stubhub has a buyer protection in case there are problems at the gate. Enjoy the game!

HankthaTank 1,100 Report post Posted January 26, 2012 Sweet! Sounds like im just being overly cautious. Any must go to restaurants in the area? If you don't care about price go to Hockeytown cafe, lots of Wings memorabilia around and what not. If you really like bbq food, please please go to Slow's. Here is a link with more info on it, a must in the Detroit area. If that is too packed, try Fishbones in Greektown, yet another link for ya. Enjoy and cheers!!!! Gizmo 21 Report post Posted January 26, 2012 Take the phone number with you just in case....stubhub has a buyer protection in case there are problems at the gate. Enjoy the game! Also, StubHub has a game day ticket location right near the Detroit Opera right on the People Mover line. If there's a problem, StubHub guarantees their tickets and they'd likely have the means to still get you into the game. 1 Travis reacted to this
Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted January 26, 2012 I second the slows BBQ comment. That place makes magic, not food.

Rooms are nice, there are plenty of places to eat in and around the casino and there is a $1 round-trip shuttle to and from the Joe.
cusimano_brothers 1,655 Report post Posted January 26, 2012 I've never been and my dad wanted me to see it before its no longer around. Is your Dad working on wishful thinking or does he have insider's knowledge? What about contacting the JLA box office? I'm sure they get calls all the time regarding ticket verification. But, do it from a pay phone, just in case.
Sprsquirt7 45 Report post Posted January 26, 2012 Its not so much my dad with the information, its more me... following news about DT detroit. Illitch wants to basically rebuild detroit and don't be naive enough to think that JLA is going to be around for a ton longer. There are rumors most off-seasons regarding the fate of JLA. Why a pay phone?
