Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted February 11, 2012 How ironic his first goal was at first waived off.Congratulations to a true warrior, 1,000 career games in a Red Wings uniform. I always get a kick out of this exchange between Homer and Scotty Bowman -Bowman - "Why wear #96?"Holmstrom - "Because it's the year I entered the NHL."Bowman - "Better change it to #98, because that's the year you're going back to Sweden." 6 hooon, Majsheppard, atodaso and 3 others reacted to this
hooon 1,089 Report post Posted February 11, 2012 Goddamn the crease rule was stupid. But congrats Homer! One of the toughest guys in the league for all the crap he has to deal with night in night out.

Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted February 11, 2012 Congrats Homer! I loved the way he looked at Keating when he suggested 1000 more. This thread might take a negative turn! lol. Kidding, congrats Homer. How much do you have to love this guy? A character and tenacious to boot.

ogreslayer 1,069 Report post Posted February 11, 2012 And how fitting is it that he comes away with a broken nose in #1000? Homer won't make the HoF but he is the best ever at what he does.
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted February 11, 2012 You can be pretty certain that he's probably averaged at least one crosscheck per game in his career too, so imagine over a thousand crosschecks to your back. The guy's a warrior. The Wings have scored a lot of goals because of his presence in front of the net, even if he doesn't end up with an assist. There isn't a stat column for screening goalie with your ass. 1 Hockeymom1960 reacted to this
