Franzen was at the end of his shift and you could tell he pretty much quit even though he was in the offensive zone with the puck on his stick. Fires a good shot, but doesn't do anything but stand there until it's safe to turn and skate to the bench.

Would not be surprised if his concussion history has caused him to play a different style of play.

I've seen that but I think with the PP killing the Flyers yeaterday and the Wings getting 2 so far tonight it may get in their heads a bit. I still think id the Wings press them hard they'll have better legs, if only paychologically. A third PP goal will imho deflate philly.

Yea, I used to think the same thing, but IMHO, the team that is playing a back to back can be used as a convenient excuse or reason for a win or a loss. For instance, if the Wings win tonight, it could be viewed as a game they should have won or that Philly was tired. If the Wings lose, then they were lazy or Philly was lucky. Either way, I learned a long time ago that these back to back games don't really mean crap.

It's totally a convenient excuse or reason but if it can be a motivator to press hard, why not use it? Conditioning these days is so much better than 20 years ago, so the only real times it might be significant is if they've flown a couple of time zones.
