Andy Pred 48 337 Report post Posted February 13, 2012 So when Nic finally does hang them up ( i have a funny feeling he's after Gordies record app) which Swede would you think is most styled to do a similar job (as replacing him is impossable)?
Hockey13Playa 240 Report post Posted February 13, 2012 Honestly, none. If I HAD to choose one I suppose I'd go with Karlsson. 1 Z Winged Dangler reacted to this

Opie 308 Report post Posted February 13, 2012 None on that list. I think Suter is a better replacement for #5, both he and Weber are cornerstone guys. I just think Suter's style matches Lids more, I think of Weber as a more talented Stuart. That more physical game, as opposed to Suter who plays a more comparable style to Lids. Either would be my top choice, also included in this "fantasy" would be Doughty as another one not on that list. The only partly interesting name on that list to me is Enstrom. ogreslayer 1,069 Report post Posted February 13, 2012 Can I pick a cyborg version of Nick if all the parts were made by Volvo so he would still be all Swedish? 3 jfranzen, 55fan and Frozen-Man reacted to this
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted February 13, 2012 Can I pick a cyborg version of Nick if all the parts were made by Volvo so he would still be all Swedish? As long as it's Volvo and not Ikea. Otherwise you'd have to put him together with that one tiny friggin allen wrench. 3 Frozen-Man, Byorski and 55fan reacted to this
MabusIncarnate 5,344 Report post Posted February 13, 2012 I chose Edler from what was on the list, but overall i'd take Letang.
egroen 384 Report post Posted February 13, 2012 Edler from that list - still pissed Vancouver sniped him from us.

MabusIncarnate 5,344 Report post Posted February 14, 2012 Thanks Tim, i did try and make it as simple as i could but i suppose not simple enough for some. Haha.. I honestly overlooked what SWEDE in the original post, and it looks like just about everyone else did also. I apologize on the behalf of those of us who can't read. 1 55fan reacted to this
Cali-Wing-Nut 102 Report post Posted February 14, 2012 Can I pick a cyborg version of Nick if all the parts were made by Volvo so he would still be all Swedish? I say HOW BOUT NICK??? Not like he's old, decrepit and past his prime. IMO this is his prime. We should be hoping that he signs for just ONE MORE YEAR... AGAIN!!.
Guest Crymson Report post Posted February 14, 2012 I'll take a clone of Nick.
jthiel86 43 Report post Posted February 14, 2012 I'd like one more year of Nick, then Karlsson
LeftWinger 4,961 Report post Posted February 14, 2012 You'd have to have two to even come close to replacing him. From the list: Hedman & Karlsson..... Pure Fantasy: Suter & Weber..... Another fantasy: any combo of Hedman and Suter/Weber...
Jocke 53 Report post Posted February 14, 2012 Enström or Karlsson. Enström's style of play is the most similar to Lidström's of those on the list.

Opie 308 Report post Posted February 14, 2012 Thanks Tim, i did try and make it as simple as i could but i suppose not simple enough for some. In the future I would recommend putting the Swede part somewhere near the title of either the poll or the thread as both appear before your OP. That was what got me a tad confused. 13dangledangle 965 Report post Posted February 14, 2012 (edited) I'll take a clone of Nick. I've read that they have been working on Lidstrom's clone in a little hide out north of Vasteras. They are said to have had some set backs, and that is the real Nick keeps beating the cloned Nick. They predict the 2.0 version to be ready to go by the summer of 2013. IllinoisRedWingsFan 49 Report post Posted February 15, 2012 Weber or Ryan Suter would be pick. Lids-Weber for a year then Weber-Smith.
Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted February 16, 2012 What about Doughty? He is having growing pains, but he might chip in the most overall offense in the long run.
IllinoisRedWingsFan 49 Report post Posted February 16, 2012 What about Doughty? He is having growing pains, but he might chip in the most overall offense in the long run. I remember tweeting Bob Duff (Ask The Duffer) asking if Detroit would be smart enough to toss him an offer sheet in Mid-July and here's what he said "Doubt it, though Babcock absolutely loves Doughty after 2010 Olympics." Though I'd like to have Doughty.
