Don't know what's wrong with Commodore, personally.

Apart from Babcock of course. Kindl's done nothing to take the regular 3rd pairing spot. *insert angry rant etc. cba*

Don't know what's wrong with Commodore, personally.

I really, REALLY, really hope this ends all the let's add a defenseman talk. I truly believe our options are so few and the prices are so high, we can't be involved in the deadline this year. We need to let the farm grow, and the youngsters on the roster prove themselves. Free agency the next two years has too much potential and too much on the line to risk our own adding pieces now.

Tootoo does NOT belong on this team. He is classless and I would rather see the Wings be bad than classless. I feel the same way about Bertuzzi as well, but he at least CAN make the team better. With Tootoo the team becomes worse and in danger of being classless. Would you have liked Claude on the team? Or Roy? No. So why would you be okay with that POS.

I have a feeling our D-man "acquisition" for the playoffs will be Smith. Guaranteed he'll be a Black Ace & I think the chances are pretty good he'll see some time in the line-up over Kindl or Commie.

Don't forget Janik and Excelby... None will be playing for GR... so wtf. WHY DO WE NEED ANYTHING BUT A SCORER!??!

I think Smith is going to have a break-out playoff run, like Helm, Abdelkader and Ericsson did when they first came up. We've got 6 NHL-ready defensemen, 7 if you count Kindl, and 8 if you count Smith because he looked pretty good when he was called up. Hopefully we don't need a depth defenseman. But I do expect Holland to make a move for a forward.

I hope Kenny calls Smith up down the stretch and if he plays well, he can pair with Ericsson on the 3rd pair. Other than Allen, I don't see any available dman worth pursuing right now.

Just because they have defensive depth doesn't mean they can't make an upgrade. Kubina would've been an upgrade over Kindl and Commodore.

That's like saying, "They have 14 forwards, why do they even need to make a trade?!"

TRUE!

I do believe they have pretty good D depth, but Kubina is a power play specialist that would have been an upgrade over Hudler on the point, that is the only reason I was a bit excited. But I do believe the roster limits are removed after the trade deadline and if so, I hope Smith comes up an gets some playing time so we can see if he will be ready next year or not...

I really wish Holland could get Selanne. I know the Ducks are trying their hardest to make the playoffs and he is a huge part of their chances, so he may not even be available. But the Wings need a player to turn that power play around which in turn should make that road record start to look better!
