Peca saying Gaustad likely to be dealt. Detroit an obvious possible destination #TradeCentre

I want Gaustad. 6'5", 225... solid guy. He would thrive in Motown.

i can't wait to see the wings do absolutely nothing today. so glad they have all that cap space.

"Fans" like you are so ignorant and childish. You want a move just for the sake of having one, not necessarily because its the best thing for the team. You're like a child that spends his weekly allowance the day he gets it. Future be damned, just throw away all those picks/prospects to get SFT his f*cking minor toys.

Sometime the best move is not making one, regardless of available cap space.

Except asking price is rumored to be a first rounder. Yikes.

@cotsonika: Howson would be nuts to send Nash to Nashville (or Detroit). Yeah, have him come back to Columbus contantly and haunt them for years.

Funny that the BJ's would even consider the Preds given they likely wouldn't consider Detroit.

Yeah, that's what Nick Cotsonika believes as well as I posted above.

Bob McKenzie thinks Montreal will make the first move today.

Pierre LeBrun said that the asking price is a 1st round pick. (TSN feed)

I don't like Gaustad to begin with, but for a first I would be livid.

Does anyone else feel like trade deadline day is becoming disappointment day?

It's way too early to be disappointed. The West coast is just waking up.

Duthie just said last years first trade didn't go down until 10:35AM and the next trade wasn't for another hour.

I'm pretty sure the price on Gustad will come down, like one of the TSN guys said, No way Buffalo gets a 1st for a guy who has never scored a playoff goal.

More importantly a guy who is "gritty and tough" yet when on the ice when Lucic runs over his goalie he doesn't even flinch towards the guy.

Gaustad is not a solution I would be happy with.

Made me laugh when I heard a 1st rounder for him, it's bargaining 101, start as high as you can and hopefully meet somewhere in the middle.

First rounder? No way. Roy or Pominville would be worth a first, not a bottom-6 player with limited offensive upside.

hollands gotta make some moves , might be our last best chance to win with lidstrom being here , i think maybe we should take a chance on andrei kostitsyn , he's had 3 20+ goal seasons in the last 5 years and the thing about him is they say he's lazy here but he hasnt really gotten a fair shot and i think detroit could push him , hes got all the tools to be a 30+ goal guy

I know this wont happen but if we got kostitsyn to play next to datsyuk i think it could be magic and i was thinking what if we did something drastic and keep bertuzzi with andrei and pav and moved franzen down with filppula and hudler (hudler's been on a role this year , dont wanna mess that up)

And we move down zetterberg to the 3rd ... my thinking behind this would be because it would give us a serious 4 line scoring threat in the playoffs and the teams wouldnt be able to put there best defensive specialists against zetterberg and he'd be getting scoring chances against other teams 3rd pairing d

again i know this wont happen just an idea ... sorry for the long post guys

Loo - as I said earlier he has all that size and he doesn't use it.

This guy watched Lucic run his goalie over and didn't even flinch towards defending Miller. The best he could do was a staged fight a week later to save face.

Not the type of guy I want on the team. Size for size sake is worthless. I'd take a guy Drake's size with that level of fortitude over a big guy with no guts any day.
