2012 NHL Trade Deadline Thread - February 27th, 3:00 PM ET

The parity era has really destroyed the trade deadline. The teams are too even and the cap is too high.

The NHL needs to either push the deadline back another 10 to 14 days or revamp the points system.

As far as the Wings go, I hope they stay away from Nash.

Sorry for the lack of updates this weekend. I was in the process of drywalling my basement. That being said, I'll be in front of my computer all day and will be updating as fast as possible through the end of the deadline.

It's been a while since I heard this but some no name on TSN just came up with the line " it could be the Wings last run at the cup " Haven't they been saying this for 5 years? 10 years?

Caps may be clearing up space for a trade by putting Backstrom on LTIR.

Bruce Garrioch thinks the asking price for PA Parenteau last night was a first rounder. That would have been a better trade for us than giving up a first for Q.

I posted this in rumours but I may as well add to the discussion here. The Isles are taking offers on Parenteau. Do you think that Detroit should make a pitch for him?

It'll cost either a first rounder or a first rounder and a prospect. And yes they should. He'd be a great second line scorer at already a point per game.

I'm considering offering you to the Jackets board in return for one fan who has been patient through all of their misery and would appreciate the s*** out of rooting for a team like the Wings. But I wouldn't do that to them, hell, I wouldn't even wish you on the Sharks.
