If Stuart is being traded, which seems highly unlikely, Holland would have to be bringing in a friggin stud on defense.

Agreed.Who's going to take Stuart? He's UFA next season - talk about a rental.
And whoever does take him, I can't see them giving up much. Unless it's a team out west that there's some sort of handshake deal to re-sign this summer.

I'm seeing lots of posts now that are debunking the Stuart-to-NYR rumors.
Still early though, so anything is possible. But unless Kenny found a trade for a big name defenseman, sending Stuart to the Rangers for only draft picks doesn't make much sense at all.

guys ... there is no way in hell stuart is getting traded ... if it were to happen it would of happened long ago not now when the seasons coming to an end , stuart will tough it out and go for the cup and then if he wants to go to the west coast he will in the off season . And kenny doesnt trade ufa's when we have a chance to win the cup

Disagree. In his interview KH called Kindl and Smith number 7 and 8 D-men on the depth chart saying either/both could see playoff time. Probably just wants to get Smith in some NHL games to get him ready for playoffs and to give Kindl a message that he needs to outplay Smith to get in the playoffs. I don't read into Smith recall as a trade precursor.If Stuart is not dealt Kindl probably will be. Message sent by Smith recall.

FYI, Smith's been called up & will be playing on Tuesday so maybe there might be something to the Stewie rumors.

Helene St. James just sent a tweet out that another d-man is "banged up" so Kindl & Smith might both be in tomorrow. Hopefully "another d-man" isn't Stewie & "banged up" doesn't mean traded.

Unfortunately I don't think these Stuart rumors are coming from nowhere.
I'm guessing the Rangers took a punt and offered us some picks for him. We said no of course because it only makes sense to trade him as part of a blockbuster deal for a star player. But some journo found out about it, and changed "offered " to "traded"

Wings made deadline trade for Quincey last week. Which was a pretty high impact trade. If they stand pat today I am okay with that.
