So why keep all the cap space for? Why trade Commodore for nothing?

Kenny messed up this deadline. Sorry folks, say whatever you want, standing pat is a mistake.

Commodore was shipped out because we have no need for him here. He's not gonna play. He slipped too far down the depth chart. Picking up Quincey is a big deal overall. There`s no point giving up the farm when there`s some good pending FA out there and Wings have some money to spend.

Let all the complaining start from all the fair weather fans. LOL, everyones already predicting a second round exist. Nice. Way to have some faith.

If Holland got Quincey today would you detractors still be saying the same thing?

The Wings added a top 4 defenseman for nothing. That's pretty good in my book.

I was thinking the same thing. If we got Quincey today, people wouldn't be so upset.
Lets Go:
Red Wings
Tigers
Roughriders
Lions
Spartans
Pistons

Define nothing. Do you mean a 1st round pick next year?

Whelp ready for a 2nd round exit. At least my expectations are realistic since this team has about zero chance of getting pass that.

They lost in the 2nd round last year in Game 7 of the closest playoffs series of all time. Against the team that has give them the most trouble the last few years.

I see only San Jose or Vancouver being serious threats to Detroit. And hopefully we don't face either of them in the 2nd round.

Friend from Buffalo told me he heard that NSH gave a 1st rd for Gaustad. Still waiting on his source though.

....and cue the *****-fest.

I won't ***** exactly, but I gotta admit that I'm disappointed.

Probably Lidstrom's last season, the team is good, we have a ton of cap space. I was hoping he'd make a serious move to go for it this season.

Unless Gaustad was traded for cheap, I can't fault the Wings for not picking up any of the players traded today.

Quincey for a 1st who is a top 4 guy who can replace Stuart next year.

Gaustad for a 1st - who is a rental 4th line centre...

Which was a better trade.

Totally lame. That home streak has people thinking this team is better than it is. No way this team is significantly better than last year. If Datsyuk misses playoff time we're completely f***ed.

so we still have:

- a mediocre PP that is desperately lacking a right-handed shooter
- a dogs*** 4th line that plays 5 minutes a night
- only 2 guys that can actually win a faceoff

wonderful.

I hate biting on this, but GTFO. Either your parents need to take your computer away, beat you, or both.

GO ROOT FOR ANOTHER TEAM IF THIS IS SO BAD.

That goes for you, too, Korrowan and Leonard. No wonder everyone thinks Wings fans are *******.

Uhhh yeah and we're still the 2nd best team in the league with all those deficiencies. The Wings are in fine shape, we don't need to go blowing prospects on 3rd or 4th line grinders that will make a minimal impact at best.

It's amazing how much clarity comes when you care more about the Red Wings than any individual player.

"They are the best team in the world. They are a team that can just take over when they want to," Chicago's Patrick Kane said (of the Detroit Red Wings).

John Scott traded to NYR for a 5th round pick. Not sure why NYR made this trade.

This place is predictable. People want to see a deal done at the deadline simply to see a deal done at the deadline.

Quincey was the deal, it just didn't happen today.
