A Ted Lindsay trophy in his future, possibly?

It's good to see his peers give him the credit he deserves. It doesn't mean, though, that the sportswriters and the other powers that be in charge of the awards will give him the same credit. But trust me, it's about damned time they do.

Love seeing this. Datsyuk is the best all around player in the NHL and worth the price of admission if you know what your watching. So thankful to have him on our team.

The Lindsay trophy is voted on by the players, isn't it?

in general much love for Pavel. more than you'd normally expect, but it's nice to hear.

couple of things stuck me, though...
VanMassenoven getting 9%. Canucks as 1/30 make up for 3% so who are the other 2 teams that get free ride from Don VanCouver?

Tony Granato in top 5 of assistant coaches deserving full time job? like really, really? Avalanche 2004 anyone?

worst ice/best ice - anyone stuck with correlation between this and geographical latitude? Posted Image

hardest players to take the puck away from - anyone stuck with the apparent correlation between the position in this rating and European provenience of the player Posted Image

Howard 5th in goalie ranking... pretty high I'd say. nice to see him getting the credit though...

Edmonton has had the best ice for about 30 years.

Can you believe we (I included) used to trash this guy for his playoff performances from 2003-2006? I remember when some Wings fans didn't like the Pavel contract, especially after no-showing when it mattered the most. Now this guy has become the best playoff performer in the league and once Z returns to usual form, the Wings will be dangerous, this time with HCA hopefully.

to be fair, it used to be deserved. As good as he has been since, not sure I'd say he's become the best playoff performer.

I knew you'd like that one. Plus Chara and another Bruin were 2nd and 3rd.

I think we are seeing Dats hitting his prime. It's a beauty to watch night in and night out.

He's leading in another poll on NHL.com

With the game on the line, which of these players do you want with the puck?

Pavel Datsyuk (Red Wings): 33.88 %
Evgeni Malkin (Penguins): 25.01 %
Henrik Sedin (Canucks): 11.04 %
Jonathan Toews (Blackhawks): 10.98 %
Steven Stamkos (Lightning): 10.91 %
Claude Giroux (Flyers): 8.19 %

I personally wouldn't mind any of those guys but I believe that I would pick Pav if I were a fan of a team not involved in that poll.

Interesting....Vancouver are a bunch of whiney cry babies, and I love the story about all the players trying the Datsyuk move and no-one being able to do it :)
"If I can be totally honest, it's not a lot of guys you get impressed by. Actually, it's no one else but him. From the bench, to see what move he makes -- you're like, 'I wish I could do that.' Sometimes you sit on the bench and just think, 'wow,' and you look over to the other bench and they sit there and shake their heads, too. He has great, great skills. I'm probably not going to play with another player who has the kind of skills he has." Mikael Samuelsson on Pavel Datsyuk

I hate when people compare Datsyuk to God. I mean, sure he's good, but he's not as good as Datsyuk.
