I want Chris Neil on the Wings right NOW.

"I think a tough team, a team that sticks together, is a lot better than leaving the onus on one guy to take care of business." - Brendan Shanahan

It still would be nice to have that one guy. (Jordin Tootoo, wish granted)

Is one of the other boys playing too rough with the big bad Bruins? Boo hoo.

QFT.

a huge. clean hit. and it looks like Neil isn't really skating fast towards Boychuk. SOB is simply one huge rock and Boychuk should've kept his head up...

I can't say that I hate the Bruins but this serves them right. take some of your poison and swallow, dirtbags...!

as for comparisons with Kronwall... not quite... Kronwall normally nails guys with his back to make sure his arms are not hurt. watch Neil after this hit to understand why Kronner does it.
plus: on a hit like this Kronwall would probably finish with his skates launched around Boychuk's head height. Neil stays low and his feet absorb some energy. different technique, at first glance more demanding on you body than what Kronwall does.

The last "punch not thrown" by Neil would have been something.

Not only was Neil hurt, but all 20,000 spectators were also injured by the shock blast.

Neil is a guy Holland loves, but never will be able to get.

Tootoo does NOT belong on this team. He is classless and I would rather see the Wings be bad than classless. I feel the same way about Bertuzzi as well, but he at least CAN make the team better. With Tootoo the team becomes worse and in danger of being classless. Would you have liked Claude on the team? Or Roy? No. So why would you be okay with that POS.

WOW, I'm more impressed that Neil held his own in the fight. I would back down like a ***** before going into a tussle with Chara.

What exactly did Neil hurt on that hit? He pull his groin a little bit or maybe a little bit of a charley horse?

People credit Chara for not taking the instigator and waiting until later to settle the score, but I wonder if Chara would've taken the instigator if Neil got right up after the hit. If you look at the video, he seems to rush right over to Neil after the hit, sees him go down, and just stops up. Obviously, he isn't going to beat on him while he is injured.

Either way, hell of a hit. Up there as a definite candidate for hit of the year.

Really?

I will agree with ya that we'll never see Neil in a Red Wings jersey.

Chara's got some class, and was a teammate of Neil's many moons ago...Good scrap nonetheless.
