Big E is out for the next month, Kindl isn't much better than Commodore... I hope that Holland is going to bring someone, if not this trade doesn't make sense at all.

They would rather see Smith in lineup than Commie, hence the trade per Helene St. James.
doesnt make sense to call up smith now and put him on the bench , unless they call him up and kindl is the odd man out again which basically would mean kindl's days are numbered

We got a pick for a fairly useless 8th DMan who is about to be a UFA. I don't think a favor was done by either team. At least we got a pick for a guy who was going to sit Til the end of the year and is we have room to trade prospects and picks for a roster player.

Rather weird after we just lost a d-man, and injuries never will disappear especially come playoff time. Reasons for everything though, and Holland probably has a good one.

Reading the article from Ansar Khan, sounds like Kenny did it more as a favour to Commie then anything. Still seems a bit risky depth chart wise.

ken holland just said brendan smith is playing in columbus and will play a few games down the stretch ..... so what does that mean for kindl??? back to the 7th spot ... i cant see him being here next year

That sure is a lot of conditions for a 7th round pick. Especially considering the Lighting are 6 pts out of the last playoff spot. So we pretty much were just clearing the contract and a roster spot. I really hope this means we're bringing in another forward. Maybe Nash will be playing in Columbus tomorrow wearing RED.

So let me understand this, Commie has to play at least 15 regular season games and the Bolts have to make the playoffs this season for the Wings to get a pick in the 13 Draft???? So if only Commies plays his amount of games but the Bolts don't make the playoffs we get nothing???? If that's the case than WTF. I understand wanting to clear some space but shouldn't we at least get some type of garuntee for Commodore??
