Per Darren Dreger on Twitter: @DarrenDreger: Ron Wilson fired. No replacement named.

@tsnjamesduthie: Burke went to Montreal, let Wilson know in person.

More per Dreger: @DarrenDreger: Carlyle very likely to be next coach of the Leafs. New coach will be on the bench in Mtl tomorrow.

@TSNBobMcKenzie: Randy Carlyle is expected to be Wilson's replacement but if there are any complications on that front, Dallas Eakins is next in line.

@TSNBobMcKenzie: Bet on Randy Carlyle being behind TOR's bench tomorrow night. Heavily.

@JeffMarek: Just confirmed by @damospin it will be Randy Carlyle behind the Leafs bench tomorrow.

Burke should go too, he's the one who put this team together.

To be honest this has been the best Leaf squad since the lock-out, and with "good" coaching the Leafs are certainly capable of making the playoffs.

That last game in Chicago was atrocious, and they're alot more capable of what they were showing.

Burke puts to much pressure on this team with what he says to the media. A team build around Kessel-Phaneuf-Reimer isn't a playoff team, no matter what Burke says.

Is there a coach who's been owned more by the Wings than Wilson? Quenneville, maybe?

I believe playing in Toronto is a pressure cooker even without Burke opening his mouth...Up until 6 weeks ago this Leafs team was certainly playoff bound, and I honestly believe they got lackadaisical in their overall approach, and Wilson simply wasn't capable of getting them outta their funk.

It wouldn't surprise me to see the Leafs turn it around under Carlyle, and have a strong finish (although I'm not certain they'll finish in the top 8); the hole may be a bit too deep.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but Wilson would have been better for that HBO show than Carlyle.
