My heart wants me to say "Easy two points", and yet my brain tells me "We tend to play our worst against the worst teams".

But countless romantic comedies and Disney movies told me to always listen my heart.

Nothing wrong with that.

If no Howard then I'm guessing Conklin. If no Howard AND Macdonald then definitely Conklin.

Anybody expected to return from an injury breather?

I've already got mine to Game 2. :D

I sure hope that we can get a good win tonight...none of this waiting to the 4rd to wake up. I'll try to participate a bit more in here Mike.

Go Wings!!

Anyone know who is getting the nod in goal?

I also heard over the weekend that Howard was ruled out until WED. It's going to be Conklin I'd say

Any one else think Fil is going to dominate again tonight?

Today is my birthday and my father said I could have anything I want. And today I want a 5-2 Red Wings victory. Henrik Zetterberg is my favorite player so he should have at least 2 goals and an assist. Oh and beat the crap out of Rick Nash in a line brawl. Now I'm not saying this game needs to be like my birthday Brawl-O-Rama from 1997 vs the Nordilanche. Nor does it need to be as good as the time my friend got me 6th row seats for my birthday and Martin LaPointe had a hat trick and I was able to send my cap to Hockey Valhalla, the Joe Louis Arena ice. Only hats and octopus go there. But like I said it's my birthday (along with Jimmeh Howard) and I want a win and an easy one at that so St. Nick and Datsyuk can have realistic first games back minutes.

Do not play lightly tonight, and just win! I'm saying Hank has another strong game and that line stays hot

Lets get a good streak going here.

I want Nyquist to get one tonight, he has been close on a lot of plays, just one too many stickhandles or a bouncing puck away from getting a goal.

GO WINGS

With a win the Wings clinch a playoff spot. Alternatively, if the Wings get just 1 point, they can clinch if the Kings and Sharks both lose in regulation.

Looks like Jimmy's return has been pushed back until Friday vs. the Preds. Per Khan:

And goaltender Jimmy Howard has targeted Friday for his return from a strained groin.

“That's the ideal plan, Friday,'' Howard said. "Get several really good practices under my belt and continue to work in the weight room, strengthening it and see how it holds.''

He has faced shots the past two practices and said he "felt like I can do everything. Now continue to keep practicing for a couple of days and we'll see.''

Franzen out tonight per Babcock Red Wings Twitter.

Even when he's in - he's out. He says he has to get his conditioning back. He has to get up to coasting speed. Like that needs a lot of work,
