cleary is a fantastic hockey player
Now I know you're lying through your teeth. What next, Lebda a tremendously gifted offensive defenseman?
Just cause you look like the gimp don't mean you play like the gimp!

Did Cleary f*** your mother? Steal your credit card number? Torch your house? Your hate for Dan Cleary is bizarre.Gustav Nyquist, Jan Mursak, Darren Helm > Dan Cleary
Who honestly is optimistic something is going to happen when Cleary has the puck opposed to the other players? I've been known as a Cleary hater, fair points, but he needs to be pushed out of the lineup. When Helm comes back, and possibly Eaves... Nyquist NEEDS to stay, Abdelkader's presence is needed in the playoffs, Miller has more goals/pts than Cleary with LESS ice time and no PP time. So who do you move? To me the answer is Cleary, I'll be shocked if he's offered a contract. You could also say Holmstrom, but he is needed as a PP specialist especially in the playoffs.
We know Cleary is getting old. We know there are better options. Give it af****** rest.

lol it's funny because when I first started voicing my disgust in the often injured (EVERY SEASON) Cleary. I heard a lot of what you just said.
I kept saying, you'll all see he won't do s*** this year. I stuck by my words all season, and now people are finally realizing this is Dan Cleary:
-2.8 million this year to play 3rd/4th line
-12 goals
- ineffective on PP and too slow for PK
-Horribly slow, lacking any intensity
-Injured
-"Cleary gets the puck, skates passed the blue line, fires ... clear shot the goalie saw it the whole way from 40 feet out."
He is HURTING our team, I have no faith he will do anything when he gets on the ice. We have more effective players (Nyquist) who could use his ice time. Learn how to objectively look at the team and realize what players aren't worth playing anymore. Loyalty goes too far with this team sometimes.

I just said in the last post he is not effective. So that washes out your "argument" that I'm some kind of homer. He'll have a good game or two and you're nowhere to be found is what annoys the s*** out of me. When he does well, you refuse to acknowledge it, as if he's the worst mistake this organization has ever made. If I had my way, several players would find themselves getting wheeled out of town, but you're right, the loyalty does go too far.lol it's funny because when I first started voicing my disgust in the often injured (EVERY SEASON) Cleary. The guy has 33 pts and is being paid like a 2nd liner... he has a few good games? Like what? He has 12 goals... far and few in between probably. Miller has 14 goals and is being paid 2 million less than Cleary, he also gets less ice time.
All I'm saying is he's doing more harm than good and people are still protecting him even though he doesn't deserve it. If I'm so wrong they should just sit him - you obviously would agree with this given your stance on him.
The loyalty does go too far. I'll let you all know right now what needs to be addressed.
Hudler shouldn't be making that much $$ - move Tatar up instead and trade Hudler then.
Holmstrom needs to hang them up (Sorry, I liked him but it's time) Draper and Maltby were too slow in doing so.
Smith needs to be moved if/when Stuart goes
Nyquist needs to be a permanent player and paired with Datsyuk
Franzen needs to show some desire next year or some action has to be taken (I doubt anyone would want him with that salary)
Cleary needs to be shipped out some how now that his NTC is gone
^ That's what I would do, not everyone has to agree with it, and I'm sure many won't but it's just what I think. Everyone has their own opinion, this thread was made to voice mine; I never said everyone has to agree with it.

Hudler is being paid fine for his production. He isn't a steal, but he isn't overpaid (much) either.

I heard he's going to be asking for a lot more $$$. You're right about right now though.

If he's going to be asking for a lot more money then I'd be "happy" to see him walk.

Maybe he just needs to get on the ScreetchI'm the biggest Cleary fan on the board most likely, but even I acknowledge he's gotta shut it down. Get surgery, come back next year with something to prove. By playing through injury, he's hurting the team big time, he can't skate, shoot or pass right now. Just no reason, I admire his guts, but this team is going nowhere this year the way things are going and Danny isn't helping matters right now.
