Versteeg misses, Wings have 99 luftballoons, er points, and leapfrog Nashville into 4th place. Good comeback.

Happy to get the 2nd point, but gotta ask why Nyquist isn't out there for 4 on 4 over Cleary.

Probably.

But with the 5 minute major and getting tossed for the game, I don't think he should get more than a game. He clearly left his feet, but the elbow was because Kopecky had his head down.

Poor performance aside from the usual push in the 3rd. Despite the W, this team is inspiring no confidence for the playoffs, at this point I think I'd rather play well and lose than play poorly and win. The latter produces complacency, and complacency produces losing streaks.
"If I can be totally honest, it's not a lot of guys you get impressed by. Actually, it's no one else but him. From the bench, to see what move he makes -- you're like, 'I wish I could do that.' Sometimes you sit on the bench and just think, 'wow,' and you look over to the other bench and they sit there and shake their heads, too. He has great, great skills. I'm probably not going to play with another player who has the kind of skills he has." Mikael Samuelsson on Pavel Datsyuk

That OT was ugly, but we'll take the shoot out win and jump ahead of Nashville by a point. Just gotta keep on winning now and secure home for the first round. Go Wings!!!

I think this assessment is spot on, hopefully Shanny does too.

games on the line, want the 2 point. nyquist bring scoring touch, but hes a rookie and could easily cough up the puck and give the W to the other team.

cleary has the experience thats the only reason

He might have experience but he's been pretty much useless out there on one leg. There's only one guy that I know of that can produce and lead a team while playing on one leg, and he's long retired now.

I like that I got negged for effectively saying I couldn't believe we needed a shoot-out to beat the Florida Panthers. My thanks to the ***** responsible for it.

I guess that makes sense, but with Cleary's bum knee, I dont feel very confident with him out there with that much open space
