it's a business, we waited to long with Maltby, then Draper, and now Homer, who will we put on waivers for him? Seriously we appreciate and loyalty goes as far as giving him a job even after hockey. Are they supposed to wait until his ass is being pulled around in a wheel chair before they cut ties? He obviously doesn't have it anymore, thanks for the memories but it's a business. What a retard. Why do that to a guy that has absolutely gave it his all his whole career. Pathetic to see that happen to someone like Homer who busts his balls every night.
What's Kenny Holland's Offseason Plan?

I'd love to see who you'd think would be good to replace him.
Kenny can work the phones while Mickey Redmond makes the decisions. That dude gets it

Fil------------Z--------NyQuist
Mule-------Pavel------Parise
Cleary-----Helm------Bert
Prust-----Konopka----Eaves
Holmstrom (this organization won't force him out)
Miller, Abdelkader (maybe one or both are expendable depending on Eaves' health and Homer's decision?)
Mursak, Emmerton (trade/fight for spot/waiver casualty)
The blueline is too muddled at this point. I really don't know which way to lean on Lidstrom's decision. And I highly doubt we have a realistic chance of signing Suter.
?-White
Kronwall-
Smith-Ericsson
Quincey (probably coming back; wasn't that impressive, but we gave up a 1st for him and he's still young)
Kindl (another year of 7th D-man or trade bait?)
And who's back-up?
Howard

Seems like Hudler thinks the writing is on the wall in this articleDo you happen to have a link yet or no? Sounds like music to my ears.

Take Scotty Bowman out of the equation, Holland would of just been another GM. He gets way too much credit and not enough blame. What did he think was going to happen with this team?
Holland's cup in 2008 was not because of Scotty Bowman.
Jim Nill will probably not take over the reigns and Yzerman is in Tampa. Neither of those are realistic choices (don't forget Yzerman as GM had a 60 goal scorer on his roster this season and still couldn't find a way into the playoffs).

I'd be pretty annoyed if Holmstrom came back next year. Sucks to say that, but he is no longer capable of playing a top 6 role, and he can't play an effective checking role. I love Homer, but it's time he hangs them up.Seems like Hudler thinks the writing is on the wall in this article

It seems clear to me that Stuart is gone.
Obviously, Lids' decision will dictate how we go about remodeling our defense in free agency. Hopefully he comes back, but it seems up in the air.
Hudler is gonna want a steady raise, and I could care less if we let him walk. I wouldn't mind trying out someone new for the top 6.

That ones pretty obvious hossa >>>>>>>>> franzen and it's not even close.Someone on another board I frequent made an interesting comment that led to the debate of: did the Wings sign the wrong player in 2009 (Hossa vs Franzen)?

By the looks of available players it seems a good idea that we get parise, suter, and Jason arnott. Arnott is a right hander and doesn't seem to mind floating around the central division and he's a physical presence.

Filpulla - Zetterberg - Cleary
Holmstrom - Arnott - franzen
Abdelkader - Helm - Miller
Eaves/holmstrom
Lidstrom - white
Suter - Kronwall
Ericsson - Quincey
Smith/Quincey
I don't know that the salary cap is breeched by this lineup, but looks pretty good to me
