Darren Helm out for playoffs with lacerated wrist

Hey! This sucks! Helm was playing great! This will no doubt effect the Wings, but they are still the best team in the league and will overcome!

Ya, no matter how you slice it!

Ha! I understand your joke there, but some people might think you really wish bad things upon the Omnipotent Red Wings and since their feelings will be hurt they may take offense...but ya it was just a joke...sort of like someone else saying "That is a bad cut" which was taken as a joke, but using the word slice is a little out of line and offensive to some of the challenged users....

Feel so bad for the kid. Such a ballsy competitor; just hate to see him have to go through this. For those who haven't seen it, there is a presser with Helm today talking about things. He seems pretty sick over this. Could you imagine fighting back as hard as he did after knee surgery to get back ahead of schedule, only to get in a freak accident 3 shifts in. Wish everyone else on the team had a quarter of the heart Helm has

Should see Helm and others sporting these next year if they are smart

side note: I am not an investor, but if I see business picking up I will seriously consider it.

"You should have seen his arm, it was out to here, or whatever," Cleary said, demonstrating the swelling in Helm's arm. "It was right at the end of the elbow pad but he doesn't wear a (long-sleeve) shirt.

"Since Modano had his, we all wear those Kevlar wrist guards so I think these shirt-makers should come out with something from the elbow down, same around the feet area. We've got guys that wear those since (Valterri Filppula) had his episode."

Hmm, seems to be right, all I can find is this

but from what I can tell the kevlar is only in the neck. they should make a sleeve like these.

although he could always try this

http://www.fibreglas...al_Sleeve_2611/

though I don't know if that is made to be worn on the skin. I have to say though, as someone who plays hockey, it sounds like he just wasn't meant to play. That had to get him just right to cut him up there by Cleary's description. Also I can't imagine how hot you would be covered head to toe in that kind of protection. Its hot enough with the usual set of protection.
