xtrememachine1 795 Report post Posted April 13, 2012 link if this is true im losing even more respect for the preds. I never had any to begin with. We're winning this series and then Weber can bang his own head against the glass of a TV screen while watching the Wings play in the second round. 1 55fan reacted to this

sputman 1,268 Report post Posted April 13, 2012 Coach Mike Babcock said he went for a run before his news conference specifically to clear his mind of the topic. When asked if the Wings needed to not let thoughts of retribution be a factor for Game 2, he said: "Well, we don't have the personnel to get back at Weber. So we might as well get on with that. This is the way our team is built, and it's been built like this for a while. To me, it doesn't matter what anybody does -- when you win the game, that's what it's all about. So let's get past any of that." aaaaaand initiate vomit sequence.

drwscc 212 Report post Posted April 13, 2012 Instead, the Predators basically mocked the ruling. Players reportedly joked about taking up a collection to help Weber pay the fine. Andrei Kostitsyn playfully shoved Weber's head into the glass at the end of practice, re-enacting the incident to the amusement of teammates. Where you at Pred fans? Care to defend this garbage? OK. I normally wouldn't respond, but you just destroyed any vestige of credibility anyone here might have been affording you. Unless, of course, you said this tongue in cheek. Which I doubt. 1 55fan reacted to this
evilzyme 769 Report post Posted April 13, 2012 Once again the media catching a situation with a photo that could be interpreted the wrong way (which it is) and causing a stink for their own benefit. So do you care to explain how this photo can be misinterpreted, because i'm not seeing a single other way to view it currently... and I can take off my homer glasses. I just don't forsee any type of drill inwhich you grab one of your teammates head and pretend to bash it into the boards, but hey maybe its the new age style hockey huh? Oh well, the Predators can make a mockery out of this situation. I just hope you guys realize it takes four wins to get past this round, and starting childish s*** like that fuels veteran teams that have the experience. Kostitsyn: "What's wrong, Shea?" Weber: *sniffle* "Oh, nothing... I just feel sooo bad about this Zetterberg thing. Its weighing heavily on my mind..." Kostitsyn: "I know, buddy. But thanks to that fine, you'll know better next time. And it goes to a fund for head-smashed players, so chin-up" Weber: *sniffle* "Thanks, buddy. Can... can you just... hold me for a bit? MTU_Huskies963 398 Report post Posted April 13, 2012 (edited) Z needs to post pictures of his cracked helmet so these nashville fans shut up. I still think even if he did post them preds fans would be saying they were photoshopped, or he took a hammer to his helmet. Or blame it on the helmet company, and say we need new helmets if that little force cracked it. Edited April 13, 2012 by MTU_Huskies963
cnot19 191 Report post Posted April 13, 2012 Zetterberg is ok so im over it. However I want to chime in about everyone complaining about how dirty he is, what an idiot he is, disgrace to capitancy blah blah blah. You guys do relize this is hockey right? Almost every captain in this league has a little dirtiness and snarl to them except for ours. I would welcome Weber to our team with open arms, maybe a few players would be more esitant to snow shower Jimmy or run roughshod down low. 1 Lonewuhf reacted to this

I don't want the guys to see me so upset" Kostitsyn: "Sure thing, comrade" You almost had me there. Weber sniffling, Kostitsyn being the nice cuddly guy (possibly having been friendzoned by Weber). Unfortunately, it looks like Weber has a big grin on his face. To me, that's possibly the worst part of this picture. He should be telling his team mates that his actions reeked of douchebaggery, and should not be used as an example, or imitated even in jest. Seriously, I hope Detroit resigns D-Mac...just for one game will do, I think.

cnot19 191 Report post Posted April 13, 2012 aaaaaand initiate vomit sequence. Ugh that quote from Babcock is embarrassing. Hes admitting it can be open season on the wings without any sort of retribution. We really do need a mean tough fighter. While Quincey, Ericsson, Abdelkader can fight, none are really mean players or have much snarl. Guys like Mcgrattan, Parros, Prust, Neil come into scrums or fight with a purpose. They want to hurt and push around the other guys, on the wings it is more perfunctory, none of them really want to get in there and issue a cross check or face wash.
