Miss Wing Queen 154 Report post Posted May 11, 2012 (edited) How did Malkin not get a penalty out of that? And now we're tied! s***. Got to stay out of the box, Sweden, even though the Russians are starting to look like the Sharks. Edited May 11, 2012 by Miss Wing Queen

rrasco 1,312 Report post Posted May 11, 2012 (edited) Is the game still on? I'm seeing highlights on the stream I found. 3rd period about to start? Well that was a quick goal....ruskies up Holy crap....goals goals goals Edited May 11, 2012 by rrasco
Guest Crymson Report post Posted May 11, 2012 When I saw that Russian player on the ground, my thought process went as so: "OMG! WHO IS THAT? Oh, it's not Datsyuk? In that event, I don't care." 1 FlashyG reacted to this
Red Wings Addict 787 Report post Posted May 11, 2012 Datsyuk versus Zetterberg was what I desperately wanted to see for the 2010 Olympic Gold Medal. WC isn't so bad I suppose but I can't even watch that because my internet sucks. Bah well.

Miss Wing Queen 154 Report post Posted May 11, 2012 (edited) Not good. Franzen helped off the ice by Z after getting cross-checked in the face. Hopefully, he'll return like normal with a few more stitches and lots of gauze shoved in places to stop the bleeding. rrasco 1,312 Report post Posted May 11, 2012 So Franzen just got a stick shoved up his nose, was leaking on the ice, and the Russian player took a match penalty. I REALLY hope nobody gets hurt for real playing this tourney. Crymson, those were my exact thoughts about the Russian player who skated into Landeskog. Datsyuk wouldn't flop like that though. Guest Crymson Report post Posted May 11, 2012 Not good. Franzen helped off the ice by Z after getting cross-checked in the face. He's got a broken nose. Kalinin is going to be getting a lot of dirty looks from Datsyuk in the locker room.

Guest Crymson Report post Posted May 11, 2012 The Swedes really needed an NHL-caliber goaltender in order to have a chance at winning.
rrasco 1,312 Report post Posted May 11, 2012 I agree. No clue who this guy in net is. Doesn't help Sweden can't bury their chances. Where did you see Franzen has a broken nose? I mean, I don't doubt it after what happened, just looking for a source.

rrasco 1,312 Report post Posted May 11, 2012 What a come back by Russia. 3-1 Sweden lead turns into a 7-3 Russian win. Wow. I hope Mule is okay.
akustyk 84 Report post Posted May 11, 2012 (edited) Sweden was playing really good in 1st but in 2nd Russians got under their skin and Swedes lost it totally. game was lost basically when it got tied 3-3, but I didn't expect such blowout. Franzen needs to calm down. Yemelin really got the best of him. same goes for Landeskog who took even dumber penalty. Fasth and Enroth are perfectly fine if the team in front of them stays focused. it was for the first 30 minutes. PS. Eriksson still rocks. and Malkin is, skills aside, f* goon. I'm sorry but Yemelin dove like it was frickin Olympic diving. They didn't deserve either penalty that tied the game at 3-3. I would most likely get frustrated if they were calling obvious diving calls like that. The game was an absolute gongshow. 3 ami, pucktividi and esteef reacted to this

I would most likely get frustrated if they were calling obvious diving calls like that. The game was an absolute gongshow. Yemelin is a b*tch and I really enjoyed Franzen pummeling him and cheapshoting in the crease. but I don't think any of those penalties was undeserved. there was serious crap going on around Russian goal, delivered by both parties. as the 2nd period unfolded it was more and more started by Johan. at some point Yemelin (and Nikulinin(sp?) ) were so much in Swedish heads that it became 5-3 PP and it all spiraled downward for Sweden from then on. the game was basically lost at this point. I didn't expect it to become 7-3, though. more like 4-3... Sweden remains my favorite to win the tournament, anyway. they just need to learn a lesson from this game. and for the love of god, coach Marts, please don't play Hjalmarsson and Stalberg in crucial situations. they are f* lazy and cough giveaways...
