So many big name stars in the US vs. Canada game ... better than any of the remaining NHL playoff games.

not really. maybe from North American point of view it looks like this, but for European players this event, played almost always in Europe, is a big deal. This is the consolation Cup for those who got eliminated or didn't make it to playoffs.
mind you... it's normal time for people here, we can watch the game without losing sleep, and for a big number of fans it's a chance to see home grown
talent. and for those players its a big chance to represent their country which at this side of the pond is still important.
in short: just because it is outside US/North America doesn't mean that it is worse...

"Very few cities in the NHL have the history or the following of the Detroit Red Wings." - Steve Yzerman
"Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people’s liberty teeth and keystone under independence." - George Washington
"Suck my machine gun." - Ted Nugent responding to British pansy Piers Morgan whining for gun control

I don't recall seeing A's on players jerseys, but team captains... well... it's in the rules of the ice hockeyDo teams have captains and assistant captains? If so I imagine Z must be one.
Alfie is captain of Team Sweden. and he's been playing good

Alfie is Captain. Z and Landeskog got the "A".

This just in, Stevie gives Canada the Order of Yzerman. Country bows and feels unworthy.

Pav definitely isn't 100%, hasn't been since his knee-surgery. Not sure why he even decided to play in this tournament instead of resting up.Z has looked great thus far. Pavel, not so much. He looks uninterested/injured ?
Z on the other hand was expected to be Sweden's best player and he's more than living up to that.

I read that he was checked into the Norway goaler by Tollefson and a scrum insued, but don't know who was fighting or what.
That would be our (read: Norway) captain, Ole Kristian Tollefsen (former Blue Jackets, Flyers, and Red Wings). Big guy.. Guess he thought he had to pull something to get the team pumped when he started did what he did to Z.

Datsyuk scored 1st goal in the game between Norway and Russia (2nd period now)..

Im not 100% sure. reffing was bad (not that bad as Finland - Slovakia, but nevertheless) but the goal scorer clearly had skate in the crease
and AFAIR this is still in the rulebook of international hockey. truth being said, there was clear interference from Russian D-man on this play...

Yep. Skrøder (Norway #19) is clearly pushed into the Russia-goalie. Body in crease - skate..barely. He gets on his feet, skates outside instantly - picks up loose puck, scores. I think its horrible..(cant find situation on YouTube yet..)
Not that I think Norway would have won the game..but 2-2 there could have done big things for us ... instead Russia scores on the following attack..
EDIT: Video available here LINK. The situation we are discussing happens around 00:32 into the clip.
