Predators bench Radulov and A. Kostitsyn for Game 3 of WCSF

Does anybody actually think NHL players stay in their hotel rooms and read the Bible every night on the road?

I agree, I like to have a beer or 10 after a day of work so why can't these guys..as long as they keep it classy I don't see what the big deal is. I've seen lots of players in the Roxy in Vancouver after a game...no biggie.

I don't want to defend Radulov because he's obviously a selfish tool but the shorter the leash you give these guys and the more you treat them like babies it seems the worse it almost makes it. When was the last time we had an issue like this? I can't even think of one.

Well the guys are usually there in between days going to a different city. and plus this is playoff time way more serious than the regular season

See Delmon Young.

Adam Lind also says 'what's up?'

As far as I know the specifics, other than curfew, have not been released by the Preds. If you read the quotes that Poile gave to the press it sounds like there is a lot more to it than just curfew. Regardless, the way Radulov and Kostitsyn had been playing it serves the Preds better to sit them down. Halischuk and Tootoo will bring energy to their team tonight and it's possible that being made to look like idiots and missing a playoff game may actually like a fire under Radulov and Kostitsyn's asses.

Also, I dont think many people have a problem with players going out and partying and doing all the things we all like to do. The issue is more keeping it in moderation. There are a lot of companies who would dislike it if you were on a corporate business trip and you were out partying until 4 or 5 in the morning and your performance is down. Everything in moderation

Preds mgmt did the right thing. Wings mgmt should have done the same when Proby, Klima et al got plastered at Goose Loonie's the night before a playoff game in Edmonton. Players cannot put their own desire for fun above the team, especially in the playoffs.

Of course it is .and a lot more stressful...a guy can't have a couple of beers with his buddies? I'm not talking about going out and getting floor licking s***tered and banging hookers and snorting rails but having a couple isn't a big deal. Note to self : I'm starting to sound like a drunk lol

I think a guy should be able to have a couple, but also at the end of the day they're responsable for theemselves and making sure they get back before curfew

Totally agree which 99% of guys do. We don't even know for sure that this was the issue with these guys but it would be a safe assumption.

Meanwhile, I hope Radulov has put some money away. As ugly as he is (in every sense of the word), he's gotta be near bankrupt from having to pay women to sleep with him.

I read a rumor hfboards that radulov's girlfriend is a singer in russia and that radulov appeared in one of her music videos

From Sportsnet:

"I didn't come back that late that they were saying, but like I said before, I don't want to talk about it," Radulov said. "They did what they had to. I am disappointed, and I understand what is my mistake."
"As long as people learn from their mistakes, that's the biggest thing," Suter said. "We stand by him. When they do get back in the lineup, they're going to be a big impact."
"We dug ourselves a hole, and we have to find a good way to get out of it," Weber said.

It's evident who has the least sympathy in this "saga".

Good on Poile. Hopefully Radulov goes back to Russia after this year. He can take Kostitsyn with him. Radulov has been beyond lazy this round. Like unbelievably lazy, considering he's in the playoffs. Show some heart.

Hopefully Tootoo gets the nod tonight. He's fallen victim to a lot of young depth up front. I wonder if he is in Nashville's plans going forward after this year?

I think Nashville will look something like this up front tonight:

S.Kostitsyn-Fisher-Erat

G.Bourque-Legwand-Hornqvist

Halischuk-Gaustad-Tootoo

Yip-Spaling-C.Smith

This was taken from a blog about Barry Trotz's press conference after the morning skate today. The question about whether or not they knew before Game 2 was asked here (and I wondered about it myself), so I thought I would share.

Nashville Predators Head Coach Barry Trotz, while answering another question, offered up the following:

“I’ll throw this out because I think it’s been asked on a lot of shows. We did not know before game two. We found out after game two. Hell would have had to freeze over if they would have played in game two if I would have known before. Plain and simple. That’s how I am, that’s how the management team is and that’s how the Nashville Predators are run.

“There’s been a lot of speculation that we knew and that’s a bunch of crap. We didn’t. I just wanted to throw that out there because it’s been asked a lot… but never to me.”

Alrighty then.

Radulov, the team’s leading scorer in the playoffs (six points), and Kostitsyn, tied for the team lead in playoff goal scoring (3), will both sit out game three and Coach Trotz fired a warning shot about game four.

“With our situation,” Trotz said. “Tonight, if (they) get it done, I would expect that I’d probably go back with the same group. The group that gets it done.”
