If there are any higher level Destiny players still playing, Xur is selling the Ice Breaker exotic sniper rifle today and tomorrow only. Quite possibly the single best PvE weapon in the game, if you have the 17 Strange Coins needed to buy it.

I just so happen to have 18 Strange Coins, so uh yeah, I'm buying it tonight, no doubt.

Great console, its good for playing with friends since Xbox and Ps4 don't make multiplayer games AT ALL anymore

Do you mean offline multiplayer? Like splitscreen? If so that makes sense, otherwise there are less single player games than there are online multiplayer games on PS4 and Xbox One by a long shot.

Yeah, I am thinking he means offline..? Wii games are no where near Xbox One and PS4 games.

No offline games ? Yeah I'm talking about split screen because my consoles will never touch the Internet (privacy and security concerns).

I'm not trying to be rude or anything but how do you do it? I mean when my parents bought me Xbox live on the original Xbox. I loved it right away and don't think I would be able to play without being online now.

No offense taken :) Well buy more controllers and invite our friends to come play with us and have a fun night before going to a party. I mean, how do you guys "type" on Xbox Live or PSN as far as I know there is no keyboard ?

In 360 you could buy a mini keyboard controller (I didn't, seem like a waste of money). As for not using it, you just click on the message. A keyboard will come up on the screen and you use the joy stick to type.

It's primarily voice communication. I remember back in the Dreamcast days playing Phantasy Star Online with a keyboard in my lap and typing to players because there was no in-game voice support.

I can understand the big change, being a bit intimidated to speak online with other people who you don't know, but you adapt and learn how fun it can be. You don't even really need to talk to play online, you can just have the experience and never plug a mic into your controller.

As far as security concerns go, you are at higher risk every time you get on your computer opposed to connecting to a video game console online. They are very, very secure as long as you password lock your account and it isn't something blatantly obvious. There are a lot of misconceptions, especially during the recent holiday "attacks" which were nothing more than a bunch of nerds signing in a few million accounts all at once crashing the servers, no accounts were taken and no one lost profiles, it just interrupted the quality of the overall service.

Back on topic, i'm playing Battlefield 4 and Titanfall a lot lately, both online on the One.

Thanks yeah my problem is I don't want to talk while playing and of course not to people I don't know.

As far as security I'm concerned about companies recording my voice or forcing updates I don't want nor need.

Friend of mine got an awesome price 200 bucks with Mario kart on black Friday should have bought one back then too

Yeah I did mean offline, but even online coop isn't that expansive

I just mean in general though games just arent made to be played cooperatively with friends anymore. You can tell the WiiU is focused on making games that you can play with friends, which is great. The new donkey kong and mario 3D are instant classics for me, great games that incorporate full screen multiplayer flawlessly.

Its difficult to find a game that has a story mode that you can play locally with a friend. A few games come to mind for console such as borderlands and diablo3, but the pickings are slim for sure.

I use my turtle beaches always when I am playing Call of Duty. Most times I am not talking but I am using them to help me play. A lot of the times in the lobbies you have really nice people, but every once and awhile you will run into an ******* that will ruin it. Overall I enjoy talking to people and sometimes you end up playing with them more and more.

As for the security concerns go when playing online, last year I was doxed in a cod lobby (won't get into detail). At the time I was a little worried about it, but now I've seen it happen more and more. Nothing happens.

Thanks for all the tips saw how it works and still not a fan would prefer the keyboard for communication or at least something like Teamspeak where you can decide to mute other players and even ban them from the channel.

Anyway back to topic just ordered MK-X usually I don't pre order but damn I want to play as Goro.

Not really playing anything consistently right now. Video games seem to have hit a "we've hit a wall thinking of new ideas and right now we're just repackaging old stuff to keep the company afloat" phase. Loved COD back when it was fresh, played so much COD4 and MW2. But everything seems to now be terribly obvious cookie cutter templates; COD version 50, MMO xp grind version 78.

One major problem is that the video game market is inherently backwards; developers jumped on the fact decades ago that hardly anyone knew anything about computers to come up with consoles as a way of everything you need ready to go out of the box. It ensured you could play any game that everyone else could due to having the same machine. They marketed it as cheaper than a computer (even though over time there isn't much difference if you know what you're doing, and you can use the same computer today to game, watch tv practically do everything)

So that's where a lot of developers went. But the latest and greatest console has always been years behind PCs; real open world games might not even make it until the NEXT generation. It's all about that greedy cash grab; Microsoft and Sony's desire to not share anything means there's zero chance of consumers inventing new mods and developing new ideas for console games.

I'm hoping someone finally gets the full world post-apocalyptic of some sort game right, no one has figured it out yet. The video game companies are pushing everything to requiring being online all the time (makes them more money) and they rationalize it by making every game multiplayer. And then you open the door for griefers to ruin everything. If someone figured out how to make something along the lines of open world Fallout; thousands of NPCs comprising hundreds of NPC factions, completely free base building, absence of 12 year old trolls grief killing I'd be down for that but no one has come within a ducks fart of realizing that idea.

Sorry about the rant.

I like the concept, and I can see things like that coming sometime in the future. It's definitely something I have considered as video games develop and expand, more along the lines of a sci-fi though with multiple planets, races, all human controlled. If you get in your ship and take to space, you actually control the flight, get in space combat battles with other players of opposing rival races, so planning ahead from moving to one planet to another takes time and organization, gathering numbers to insure your safe passage.

In the meantime though, I think Fallout 3 and New Vegas did a pretty great job as far as a massive post apocalyptic scenario went. I did always felt like it screamed for at least a cooperative mode so you can take it all on with a friend.

Give it time though, games are becoming more massive and technical as the years go by. Dreams of massive, entirely human controlled worlds will be here eventually.

Accepted an invitation to play the Vault of Glass raid in Destiny for the first time today. Joined the group, only to find out that they're already on the final boss of the raid.

So, I pretty much just Jiri Slegr'd the Vault today...
