If anyone missed JR and Milbury arguing about the Brown hit, here it is:

I was in the office on LGW when I heard all the chatter from JR and Milbury....I had to walk out to the TV to see if they were going to drop the gloves or not. Milbury is a *****....and he shakes little kids.

Paul Holmgren must be feeling pretty stupid today. Carter and Richards have proved in the playoffs there still dynamic players, and good ole Lazy Pancakes himself has turned it around too when no one would have thought it possible. Good for the boys, and good for LA. If it's the Rangers that advance to the Finals I hope LA crush them, I cannot stand Torts :hehe:

They were terrible all game.

The delay of game on Doughty in the 1st was a joke, and there were three pretty obvious penalties agains the Coyotes that they didn't call in the 2nd period. Phoenix scored the tying goal when they should've been on the PK.

They overcalled in the first, then swallowed their whistles for most of the rest of the game. Just a poorly officiated game overall. and these are supposed to be the good refs.

I know everyone blames the refs, but when you get down to the conference finals and it's still this bad, that says something. The NHL is really hurting from a lack of experienced refs that know how to manage a game. McCreary was the last one who could really do that well.

I feel like the last couple seasons I've noticed the linesmen a lot more, in a bad way. blown offsides calls, waving off icings that shouldnt be. Players not being able to tell if a play is an icing or not. Honestly on the Voynov play it looked like it could've been a delay of game, but more than that I was confused as to why it wasn't an icing. I half wonder if the reason they didn't call a penalty was because of a botched icing call, because Voynov sure seemed to think it was going to be.

Until the NHL changes the reffing style, there will always be missed calls. I love this idea.

The NHL seems unwilling to change it up though, and that is sad.

So. The big question.

Does Doan test the free agency waters?

He would be an insane pickup for us.

He looked like he was ready to cry when he was getting applause from the fans. Maybe he sees his time in Phoenix is over or something.

Um guys we may have a lot of money but we need to get younger although Doan would be a nice addition I highly doubt it.

Mike Smith should shut the f*** up I mean, after all Doan has a reason he got three stupid penalties for nothing in a row.

I mean John Scott will be avaiable he may not be as good as Doan but this guy can skate and fight well.

A beating, but that's possible too. I hope not.

So quick to jump on the hatewagon..

I wonder if these people saw how much Brown was being given the business earlier in the series.

I saw it all. I don't like his flopping/embelishment. Never have. Do I have to like him?

Embellishments are a bigger problem with the league and the system of refereeing, it's done league-wide, not something Dustin Brown solely does. I don't see that as justification for wishing injury upon him when he makes a borderline hit.

As mentioned, he's also been on the receiving end of embellishments and questionable hits/sticks, but whatever, you've invested excessive amounts of emotion into a single player for a league-wide issue .. hate away.

He's widely regarded as one of the biggest divers in the game, by many people, not just me. I didn't wish injury on him, either. I said he's gonna get a bit of a pummeling for the running around he does. You don't think a Coyote is going to go after him next season? This is also the first time I've discussed Brown on the forums. Stop putting words in my mouth and making s*** up.

Apparently Vermette was jawing with Penner in the handshake line as well.

About something that happened in game 2.

I love Pancake's response though.

Question: Were you surprised at some of the stuff that was done in the handshake line?

PENNER: “Yeah, I’ve never seen that before. I got chirped in line too, for my headlock I put on Vermette in Game 2. He wanted to rehash that. I was a little surprised.’’

Question: What did you say? Did you just keep going?

PENNER: “I was really surprised. `I don’t have time to talk, right now, about this. I’ve got a flight to catch.’’’

Question: He didn’t send you a BBM or anything?

PENNER: “We didn’t exchange PIN numbers.’’

Smith wants Brown banned. And apparently Doan wasn't very happy with the officiating either. I had to chuckle about Doan (!) complaining about referees and getting the short end of the calls.

Yandle was crying about the refs too.

Smith went on to say the refs have been against them all season.

I've never heard players whining so much in interviews after being eliminated. It's not like they're the first team to suffer a loss under tough circumstances.

I guess they really are the Phoenix Cryotes.

 Penner is one of the biggest beauties in the league, if only he could play the way he is in the postseason in the regular season, because he'd be a great FA acquisition
