The last 2 times the Wings won the cup, Hasek was on the roster.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't know about third time being the charm, but hey...

I would love that! He'd at least be reunited with Stevie Y.

We also didn't win a cup without McCarty since 1955...

Bring em all back!

What's to stop Chris Chelios from coming back now?

According to my profile, my reputation is excellent. LOL.

He will be in the NHL next year if only to sign a 1 day contract and retire with buffalo.

Say hello to our big-name UFA offseason acquisition. :hehe:

For the love of God Dom, please don't.

Honestly, normalyl I am against players coming out of retirement etc. but I'd actually be interested in seeing Hasek return to the NHL. I feel like if any retired hockey player would have a shot at coming out of retirement and being pretty good Hasek would be that guy.

I'm not saying I'd want to see that effort made with the Wings but if he signed some where else I'd be interested in seeing it unfold

Panger thinks he could make it as a backup.

“I find it impossible to think a 47-year-old could be a No. 1 goalie in today’s game,” said former NHL goalie and current NBC analyst Darren Pang, who is one year older than Hasek. “Is it possible for Hasek to back up a top goalie and play 15-20 games? That is possible.”

When Hasek last played in the NHL in 2008, Pang recalls that the goalie “played small, looked small.”

“He was not an imposing figure,” Pang said. “His hockey brain, on the other hand, is miles ahead of the good goalie, and that’s why he may be able to back up. The older you get, the worse the eyes get. The puck is exploding off the stick faster than ever, so it’s harder to pick up the puck coming off the stick. That delayed reaction is the difference between a great save and a goal against.”

From now on, Patrick Roy will be rolled out to and from the Avs' bench like Hannibal Lecter. - BottleOfSmoke

NO! NO! NO! I'd rather have us re-sign Jiri Hudler then have Hasek again.
