Congrats to the Kings! There were some interesting non-calls, but it couldn't have made any difference to the Devils. They got outplayed all night. Meanwhile, I'm not at all sorry to see Brodeur get hammered.

Doc Emrich (sp?) did a fantastic job during the whole series. He kept it unbiased and fair throughout. That couldn't have been easy for him.

And NBC should be loudly and vociferously applauded for the great job they did covering the whole playoffs series. We got to see all of the games because they had enough channels to not screw us over for one game or another.

Thank god the Olympics are coming up. Otherwise it could be a loooong summer.!

Three things that make me happy tonight:

1. It cool to see a respectable organization win it's first Cup..COngrats!

2. Fat Boy Brodeur does NOT get to lift a 4th Cup! :hysterical:

3. It's FINALLY the off-season! Come on Draft Day! Let's Go Red Wings!!!

(Let's Go Holland!)

What an amazing team 16:4 is that impressive although it wont beat our octopus run back in the days! Heads off to the Kings

Couldn't be happier for Carter, Richards, Penner and Lewis. The Devils showed great class it would have been easy for them to goon it up but they didn't and kept it honest, great finals sucks hockey is now over for some time. I want the summer to end and hockey to start again!

Hockey >>>>>>> every sport on this planet

Former Kings GM Dave Taylor deserves a lot of credit. He drafted Kopitar, Quick, and Brown. Only Kopitar was a 1st rd pick and not top 10 if I recall correctly.

That's the great thing about Doc. He actually used to be a Flyers PBP guy until they wanted him to be an ultra homer, which he declined to do so.

Also, LOL at the ESPN poll about the two teams. Only 5 votes out of 3000 came from South Dakota. Watch Bettman try to build a hockey market there

NBC did. But they're continuing coverage on NBCsports. (I was pissed too and figured it out after a minute).

They didn't show it on there either...They were talking to Richards when I heard the crowd scream Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuc! Nice to see him win one while part of his original organization, but lest anyone forget where he had to come to get his as a player....lol! Congrats to Luc though, he was a part of one of the best teams EVER assembled and will forever be a Red Wing as well as a King/Ranger...and one year a Penguin...

Brodeur talking to Roenick after the game. I have to give him credit for that, talking so soon after a loss like that. And being very gracious in defeat.

Aside from his infidelity off the ice, he has always been a gracious and nice guy. Not like Roy who liked to talk s*** all the time. I just haven't liked the Devils organization very much. Partially because I was a new hockey fan back in 95 when the Devils swept the Wings.

Congratulations to the Flyers of the West ... didn't know that even Hextall had some sort of front office job there!

Anybody see who picked up the puck after the buzzer?

This certainly wasn't as exciting as last year's finals. I remember there was WAY more activity on LGW during the Vancouver/Boston finals as well. I wonder if it would have been better as a NYR/LA finals. NJ just didn't capture my attention at all.

The refs non-call, then 5 minute major for Kings to go up 3-0 really cheapens this win for me.

just watching the highlights of the game on TSN website... really awkward to hear Kings crowd not only not booing Gary The Commish - they actually cheer him when he talks about great fans... stop.gif

I mean... that would never happen in good ol' Canada ;) it's just... celebration unfulfilled, like missing a crucial point...

kudos for LA for winning the cup. they were the best team, period.
