2012 SCF : Los Angeles Kings vs. New Jersey Devils

Kings have to win, that way Parise is still hungry yet experienced. I don't care what people say about Parise staying with the Devils, they still have to be able to afford him.

I wanted the Rangers to beat the Devils, not just because of the Parise-factor, but because that meant the Kings would have to go through the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd seeds in the West only to meet the 1st seed in the East in the Finals. 1, 2, 3 seeds in the West is impressive enough as it is.

On that note, so much for all the 'no seed above #5 has ever won the cup' talk. 2012 SCF, History WILL be made. Write that down.

The really weird/interesting thing would have been that it would have been Sutter coaching a team through the top 3 seeds in the West to go on and face a team coached by Tortorella and lead by Richards, just like in the 04 SCF, with Sutter coaching Calgary and Tortorella coaching Tampa Bay.

Devils in 5.

Haha are you kidding me the kings are by far the better team. Yet I don't see either team winning in 5. But the way the kings have rolled through the west what makes you think a mediocre team out of the east is going to be anything but a speed bump

I don't get how people could say the Devs have a better chance than either Vancouver or Nashville at beating LA.

Marty has slain Cinderella before in the 03 Ducks, but the Kings are a much better team then those Ducks. I think Kings in 6, but I expect hard fought, physical, close games in all 6.

Not only are the Kings better, but the Devils are worse than the '03 Devils.

This long layoff for the Kings will hurt them early on, not to mention they have the Devils are more experienced. I think NJ wins the first two, Kings win the next two and it ends up with the Kings winning it in either 6 or 7 games.

Game One officials, Dan O'Halloran and Brad Watson.

Makes me kinda glad the Wings aren't in the finals. I'd hate to see the ways that we'd get jobbed by the sheer incompetence that those two bring to the ice.

Who did O'Halloran sleep with to get to the finals? The man is truly one of the most incompetent idiots to ever receive a steady paycheck.

I've been on the Kings bandwagon since round 2. I thought it might jinx them, but maybe giving them O'Halloran now is the hockey gods' way of taunting me instead of having them exit earlier.
