Don't know if this has been posted, but it's been all over the web.

Thanks for that. Those tickets for Yzerman's were almost impossible to get. I'm hoping that I won't miss out on Lids banner presentation at the Joe.

It's great to see all the players showing their admiration of Nick and his magnificent career. I know that I sure will miss him. Things sure are going to be different at The Joe. Godspeed Nick. Thanks for everything.

Awesome tweet from Alex Bolduc (@ADuke49) of The Coyotes

Hahaha, great tweet and a nice way to lighten up what is an understandably somber and emotional thread.

Tickets to Forsberg's retirement ceremony were not at all hard to get. There were hundreds of empty seats at the arena that night; the Avs really do have huge attendance problems.
As a plus, I got to watch the Wings shut out the Avs that night after the festivities.

Why am I a fan of the Detroit Red Wings?
The NHL tweeted my son and I at the 2012 NHL Draft!

This is a great interview with Ken Holland as he discusses Nick's retirement. He mentioned that Nick had a hairline fracture when he went down with injury. I like what he says when he outlines his plans for free agency and such.

Who wouldn't want to have the kind of career Nick did? Sure it would've been nicer if the Wings won the Cup one last time for him, but he was one of the best to ever play the game, was insanely healthy through most of his career, and left the game on his terms while still playing at an elite level. How many players actually get to do that?
I started watching the Wings as a serious fan the year they named Yzerman captain. In all my years as a Wings fan I have been incredibly lucky to get to watch franchise players like Yzerman and Lidstrom play for 20 years a piece. How many fans get to have not one but two superstar players who remained with the team their entire career and brought nothing but honor to the organization?
Congrats Nick. And thank you.

It's still yet to hit me that next season I'll be watching a Red Wings game for the first time in my life that Nicklas Lidstrom isn't listed on the roster.

I'm with you on that one

Thanks for that link. Not only was it a good interview, but the page itself really put this into perspective for me.
Nick was talking about looking forward to retirement, and on the same page was a photo of Wade Belak.
Somehow, retirement doesn't seem so bad any more.
Money on the board: $40
Thanks for a great season, guys. You exceeded expectations and have given us something to look forward to as the long summer approaches.
And next year we get to start in October, like hockey is SUPPOSED to.
