There is no way Weber is leaving the Preds this summer. He may very well leave next summer, especially if Suter is gone now, but that is a topic for next year.

but obviously, I dont think there would be many who would pick Doan over Weber.

Imagine the Wings D as:

Weber - Suter

Kronwall - Ericsson

Smith - Schultz/Quincey

I figured since we were dreaming we may as well dream big

I never wanna see shane doan in a wings jersey.

I really hate him too. His whiney attitude after the Yotes got knocked out reaffirmed everything to me as to why I dislike him. That being said, he can be a pretty good hockey player when he wants to be

Had to go with Parise-Doan-Suter since Holland will NOT be giving up all those draft picks to sign Weber this summer... Glad to see Doan is on their radar, I don't get the hate on him because he whined about the refs, don't we all do that every game and wish that someone on the team would call the refs out once in a while?

I will take Parise to replace Hudler, Doan to replace Holmstrom, Moen to replace Mursak/Emmerton and Wideman to replace Stuart, oh and Vokoun to replace MacDonald. That is with a $70M Cap...

As long as we are hoping against hope:

Zach Parise ($7.000m) / Pavel Datsyuk ($6.700m) / Shane Doan ($4.500m)

Gustav Nyquist ($0.875m) / Henrik Zetterberg ($6.083m) / Johan Franzen ($3.955m)

Danny Cleary ($2.800m) / Valtteri Filppula ($3.000m) / Todd Bertuzzi ($2.075m)

Travis Moen ($1.250m) / Darren Helm ($1.350m) / Justin Abdelkader ($1.200m)

Patrick Eaves ($1.200m) / Drew Miller ($0.838m) /

Niklas Kronwall ($4.750m) / Ryan Suter ($7.000m)

Ian White ($2.875m) / Dennis Wideman ($4.000m)

Brendan Smith ($0.875m) / Jonathan Ericsson ($3.250m)

Jakub Kindl ($0.883m) /

Jimmy Howard ($2.250m)

Tomas Vokoun ($1.100m)

LW- there is no way on this earth that Parise will replace Hudler.

Upgrade, yes. Replace, no.

Ok, got in my Hudler jab for the day. Carry on.

Back to topic. I'm torn between the first and third choices.

I meant his roster spot when Hudler is no longer there. As with the other guys I mentioned. I should have specified.

I know. I was just in for a swipe at Hudler.

I wouldn't say no to getting Doan either. If we can't get Parise (which would hopefully be because we got Suter) I think we have enough kids that a veteran wouldn't be a bad call.

That said, given how far Phoenix has gone this year, he may not want to leave.

I'd rather not have Doan, hes not leaving Phx anyway. The team needs to commit its money to players under 30 and lock them up for the long term, the last 3 season there has been too much offseason drama, so, a few years of a consistent roster is a must.

My dream roster:

FORWARDS

Zach Parise ($7.500m) / Pavel Datsyuk ($6.700m) / Alexander Semin ($6.000m)

Johan Franzen ($3.955m) / Henrik Zetterberg ($6.083m) / Gustav Nyquist ($0.875m)

Jiri Hudler ($3.500m) / Valtteri Filppula ($3.000m) / Todd Bertuzzi ($2.075m)

Darren Helm ($1.000m) / Danny Cleary ($2.800m) / Patrick Eaves ($1.200m)

Drew Miller ($0.838m) / Jan Mursak ($0.550m) /

DEFENSEMEN

Niklas Kronwall ($4.750m) / Jonathan Ericsson ($3.250m)

Ian White ($2.875m) / Jakub Kindl ($0.883m)

Brendan Smith ($0.875m) / Ryan Suter ($7.500m)

GOALTENDERS

Jimmy Howard ($2.250m)

Josh Harding ($0.850m)

Does anyone else stop reading the moment they see "CAPGEEK" in a post?

I'm beginning to.

Weber will not be a Red Wing, chances are he won't leave Nashville for a long time. We gotta consider scratching Weber as a possibility this offseason, I really really don't see it happening.

Aside from Doan having spaz face like Olli Jokinen on occasion, he would be a interesting add for a couple seasons. Definitely not one of my top choices though.

For the record this is my first one this offseason, I decided I needed to get it out of my system. It will hit you to! Mark my words ;).
