Good luck, Stewie! Thanks for the great years you spent here. You've left us with a whole lot of highlight reel hip checks.
A big hole has just been left in our defense.

Wings have no plans for Murray. Sharks needed to unload a player to stay at the 50-man roster limit.

That's right. Sad Simpsons Indian. I went there.

Now we can look forward to BlueAdams capgeek lines thread without Stuart on this team.

So, he's back home with his family. We are poorer for the loss of him on our blue line - like we need to lose anyone else? - but I wish him all the luck in the world unless he's playing against us.
Thanks for your services, Brad.

The performance was night and day. He made Ericcson look like Nicky in comparison. He skated away from the puck, made little effort to maintain puck possesion and although everyone looked crappola in the Playoffs this year, he was one of the worst out there.
I dont understand the love fest for him when it was obvious he had zero intention of playing hard last season.
stats are games played, goals, assists, points, PIM, +/-
2010-11 Detroit Red Wings NHL 67 3 17 20 40 4
2011-12 Detroit Red Wings NHL 81 6 15 21 29 16
He played less the year prior and had almost the same numbers, I dont look at plus minus because that is a team stat. He wasnt helping as much and definitely wasnt manning up on guys like he did in the previous year.

You look at his performance in 2010-11 and compare it to 2011-12 when he made it verbally known that he wanted to leave.

Stuart was always professional. I think you’re being too harsh.
My only criticism of Stuart was he was a little too mellow for a physical D-man, for lack of a better description. Plug that #3-4 position with someone a little more hateful to play against. Even Quincey has more edge to his game.
That being said, I really liked Stewie. He was steady, from all reports an amazing team-mate, and worked hard. He won’t be easy to replace.
Best of luck Brad!!!!

stuart was pretty consistent. solid guy. Looked like he was slowing down a bit though
I would of thought stuart was worth more then a 7th and andrew murray though. I guess its not that bad considering its just rights
lets see what you got mr holland. replacing lids and stuart.

I'm pretty pissed that Sharks almost got a freebie here, but at least we've got a pick in return.
I don't bother about his points much, cause he's a defensive d-man with extremely limited PP time, but if you want to talk about stats, here are some:
2010-11: 131 Hits,114 Blocks
2011-12: 177 Hits,115 Blocks
That's still good enough for me
