Guest Hatethedrake! Report post Posted June 19, 2012 AAV of $2.125M I had him slated for a 2 mil Cap hit. Great deal Kenny! Now all Kenny has to do is re-sign Abs and Quincey. Sign Parise, Suter, Moen (or Prust) and Harding.

Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted June 19, 2012 This is doubly good news in that we get to enjoy Helm's chaos for four more years and his rehab must also be going well to give Holland his signature! Also I'll do the OPs dirty work: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=398711

ogreslayer 1,069 Report post Posted June 19, 2012 Good signing & while it seems just a little high right now, I think over the 4 years that will end up being a good price, maybe even a little bit of a bargain. So Abby next but how many years/$s? 2-4 with a hit around $1.6-1.8 maybe? 1 Rick D reacted to this

ogreslayer 1,069 Report post Posted June 19, 2012 i dont believe harding will happen All the UFA coverage I've seen is pointing to Harding wanting to go somewhere he has a chance to be the #1 guy. I agree, don't think it will be Detroit.

I disagree from what ive heard, Harding love Minny and wants to be the number 1 there. He currently is in talks with Fletcher and is looking for a multi year deal. I dont necessarily believe hell stay there, but he seems willing too.

Jesusberg 1,256 Report post Posted June 19, 2012 Not an overpayment by any means. It's right on par with comparable contracts, plus there's the (very likely, IMO) chance that he will grow into, and play above the contract. Very pleased with the signing. 1 Hockeymom1960 reacted to this

xtrememachine1 795 Report post Posted June 19, 2012 4 years? I'll take it! At first, I thought "Wow! $2 mil a year eh?", but honestly, for what he brings to the team, he's well worth it.

vladdy16 2,154 Report post Posted June 19, 2012 Not Bad. That was damn funny! I think this is a genius contract on Holland's part. Assuming the best, Helm can do nothing but add huge value to this team. All he needs to do is learn to bury those chances his speed is so good at creating and we're golden. 2 NeverForgetMac25 and WizardOfOz30 reacted to this
Guest Kronstantinov Report post Posted June 19, 2012 (edited) Great signing and a great bargain for what Helm brings to the table. He would score a lot more if he was given opportunities in scoring situations. It is unfortunate that stats dictate a player's income. It is precisley because of players like this that the Wings will be a Cup contender for a long time. Players who are willing to play for less than what they could get leaving cap space for the team to fill it's needs (and not over-paying for someone just because we have the money), players like Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Franzen, Kronwall, Howard, all could have got so much more on the open market.
