Lidstrom stated in his presser that the 3 guys he would personally give the C to would be Zett, Filp, or Kronner. I was pretty shocked when he said Filp but if Lidstrom said that he would have his vote, he probably has a nice locker room presence.

Agree with what you on Flip. Wings don't really give the big vocal guy the 'C' but the person who exudes the most professional outlook that the rest of the team has to follow. For that reason I reckon Flip could be really good one as a captain one day. Probably just a shame he's on a team that has potential captains all around the locker room (looking at people like Cleary, Kronner, Dats even though he doesn't want it, Helm, etc) but that's the way the organisation is run I guess and never a bad thing!Lidstrom stated in his presser that the 3 guys he would personally give the C to would be Zett, Filp, or Kronner. Interesting read, as much as I love such traditions I still think it should be decided by the players.
I'm sure the management's choice for captain will be in line with that of the players. Management isn't so out of touch that they don't know how the players feel about the locker room leadership.
