Until Glen Sather trades his entire roster over so they can all play with Marc in NY.

Nope. Carolina's moving Jared and Eric to defense, and trading for Sid the Kid and Rick Nash.

Crosby, Staals, and Nash. Get a Young goalie and you've Got It Made. It's a Fair Game, so Teach Your Children Well.

Had to throw that last part in. Just a Song Before I Go.

'canes are my second favorite team. So this is cool.

Jordan Staal is one of the most underrated players in the league.

Looks like Jordan was traded during his wedding without his knowledge. Hmmm

The media is jumping on the Pens bandwagon once again. I still believe Parise and Suter will be Red Wings on July 1st. Nothing is guaranteed of course. However, the Pens have to trade Martin first. Kudos to Shero for finding a sucker er I mean partner for Michalek. Even if he does have the Cap space, why would Parise and Suter go to the Pens over the Wings? I recall the Pens being eliminated in the 1st round just like the Wings were.

I don't think we can get both Parise and Suter here. I think Suter will be a lock to sign in Detroit. Plus, the prospect of playing with Crosby and Malkin may be more appealing than playing here. Who knows.

Look like Jordan's now signed long term. Supposedly 10 years for $60m. From Jim Rutherford's twitter feed:

I'm very pleased we'll be announcing shortly that Jordan Staal has committed to make his home in Carolina for a long time.

Bit much I think. Not crazy bad, but was thinking it would be around $5M.

$2M cap hit increase. No way in hell is this guy worth $6M.

Somewhere, Valtteri Filpulla's agent is rubbing his hands with glee
"If I can be totally honest, it's not a lot of guys you get impressed by. Actually, it's no one else but him. From the bench, to see what move he makes -- you're like, 'I wish I could do that.' Sometimes you sit on the bench and just think, 'wow,' and you look over to the other bench and they sit there and shake their heads, too. He has great, great skills. I'm probably not going to play with another player who has the kind of skills he has." Mikael Samuelsson on Pavel Datsyuk

Could be a bargain over the long run, but i'm wary of these marathon contracts though.

Hudler and Val's agents must be salivating. Both out performed him and both don't play as many minutes. Terrible deal. I thought the point of these long contracts were to lower the cap hit. I'm assuming a five year deal would have netted him an 8mil cap hit? That's crazy! I'd rather have Staal than Hudler, but Filppula over Staal. I love Filppula but none of the three players are 6mil players.
