Wings may trade Johan Franzen for Rick Nash?

All indications are pointing to Parise going to Pittsburgh or Philly. The Red Wings will then sign Ryan Suter and trade Johan Franzen for Rick Nash.

However, there is a possibility the Wings could get Parise, Suter and Nash. Parise and Nash are both left wing. The Wings are thin at left wing.

Aw man what would the trade be? Franzen, Flip, Gus, Tatar and a 1st for Nash? CBJ will want a premium dealing him to the Wings. Sign Parise and Suter...

I know Rick Nash is a rare talent, I think he has loads of untapped production potential if you put him with better players. With the Wings, he could be a beast. BUT do we really like that idea of giving up a player like Filppula who is a pretty rare two-way talent in his own right, as well as other roster players and great prospects we've groomed ourselves, AND 1st round picks? Columbus has already said it would take a bombshell of a deal for them to trade to the Wings. Its bad enough overpaying in free agency, I wonder how much of the current and future team we'll have to mortgage for this one player?

He may be worth it, he may not be. I guess I'm torn...

Columbus won't want to trade him to us, so we'll have to give up way too much to make it happen. Word already is Holland has presented a trade to them that was deemed "not competetive". Just forget it.. I think Nash will stay a Jacket, they're asking too much for him and he has too few teams he's willing to go to.

Parise/Semin: YES. Nash: NO.
