Wasn't Roy the one who was in that photo with Chelios? Where Cheli is ripped and Roy looks more out of shape than most hockey fans, let alone pro athletes.

dis?

I'd love to have Wings grab Ott instead of Tootoo (not along, absolutely) and it sure looks like Wings had assets of Roy value to trade. good for Buffalo, though! Ruff has his doghouse back, I can't wait for Sabres clashing with Flyers and Sens next season... ;) things might really get hairy in the East now...

Man I believe Cheli could still play. A lot of fans couldn't wait for him to retire but he was putting up positive plus minus while producing little to no points paired with Lebda, Meech, and a rookie Big E (all three well below positive plus minus). Pretty impressive. How he was below Lebda and at times Meech on the depth chart is beyond me. I'm also pretty sure that's around when our PK took a huge hit for a couple seasons.

From Sportsnet:

Derek Roy will have to wait a little bit before making his debut with the Dallas Stars.

The Dallas Morning News indicates that Roy, who was acquired from the Buffalo Sabres in a trade for Steve Ott and Adam Pardy on July 2, had shoulder surgery Wednesday and will be out until November, according to general manager Joe Nieuwendyk.

Roy, who had injured the shoulder in the pre-season last year, was medically cleared before the trade but a more in-depth physical in Dallas led to the decision to have surgery.

That's the one. what a model of fitness!

I'd never guess that was a pro hockey player and not just a guy in his twenties who's in pretty good shape and loves beer.
