Hey, gang -

Let's keep it on topic. This thread relates to Suter and indirectly to Parise. Please take everything else to PM's.

"He even ate with women who at that time were accorded the same status as the family donkey. Are we willing to break bread with, say, child sex slaves, transgender teens and undocumented workers? Because when Jesus comes back to Earth, that's where he'll be hanging."
You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him.

We can still ice a contender this year through trade and free agency... Sign semin and doan and try an trade for Yandle and that's a nice line up with still a lot of cap room an lots of forward depth. Trade Mursak, Tatar Cleary Franzen or flippula for a Yandle-esque defenseman we might be glad we didn't sign suter

We're talking about the Wings, more specifically our top-6. We have goal-scoring power; what we're really lacking, I think, is the other things that make a truly formidable top-6 truly formidable. Do I think we could use a sniper? Yes. But let's not kid ourselves - the reason the Wings couldn't score against the Preds goes way beyond the opp. D pressuring Datsyuk and Zetterberg.

Opposing D were shutting down Zetterberg and Datsyuk and no one else was able to step it up. Not Hudler, Not Flip, Not Bert, Not Franzen. That says a lot.

Why do we think they're going to Minnesota? Can someone point me to some tweets or reports or blurbs or whatever from credible, unbiased sources? (Not doubting, just curious as to how things suddenly went from guarded optimism to "s***, it's obviously Minny."

Well, the upside of not getting a top D man this season might mean we get a good draft pick next year.

I'm semi-ok with Kenny losing this one. But if Matt Carle is our elite blueline addition...I'm gonna call ball-drop.

Ya if Suter is gone we will be trading for D. If we get suter we could trade for Nash/Ryan.

Is there a kickstarter campaign for Jakub Kindl to never play another NHL game?

Yeah you can forget Suter, not happening. Kenny has his work cut out for him now.

Unconfirmed report.....

Shea Weber flew to Minnesota, smashed Suter's face into his sliding glass door (twice) and convinced him to stay in Trashville so they could have several chances to lay into Tootoo next season.

Another remote possibility: maybe a team is offering a sign and trade deal?

lol wings sign suter long term and trade to nash for weber whom they then sign long term and trade for many many many picks.

Is there a kickstarter campaign for Jakub Kindl to never play another NHL game?

If Suter announces today and it is Detroit, that will be my 4th of July fireworks. I can stay inside tonight and enjoy the AC. The kids will understand when they get older.

Too late to beg Lidstrom to comeback for one more season?

HOLLAND: "Ryan, where do you want to go, in your Heart of Hearts?"
SUTER: "Philly."

HOLLAND: "Holms, how much for Giroux?"
HOLMGREN: "f*** you, Ken."
HOLLAND: "How about Suter?"

He's signing a 1 year deal with MIN, I hear he wants to play with Parise too.

LeBrun: Told that over the past 36 hours, the dialogue between Parise and Suter picked up considerably...

Just the timing of it more than anything says Minnesota to me. We know Parise and Suter have kept in contact the past couple days. Just reading between the lines, seems like Suter is pulling the strings. Parise was sold on going to the Wild, but only if Suter did too and maybe he finally decided that he would.

The fact both will announce today says package deal. That certainly doesn't eliminate Detroit, but it doesn't look too promising either.

This part really confirms your objectivity and makes me confident about Suter signing here.

Just cause you look like the gimp don't mean you play like the gimp!
