Parise and Suter make their first appearance as a Minnesota Wild...

The only thing that could make this better is if you put Parise and Suter's jerseys on the bears. Make sure if you do you put the "A" on their jerseys cause at their press conference, they already had them. So much depth in Minnesota, all you have to do is be a good player and they'll toss you a letter before you even get to the locker room.

Anyone see this on NHL.com

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=637714

Anywho interesting they have us Wings having to give up Helm in a deal for Nash. Everyone says trade or give up Flip or Franzen for this or that. Might be no teams want them currently.

IMO Helm is a vaulable asset and would you package him in a deal for Nash? Not sure if I would. I won't mention other names as this thread is for Nash. Also by that article NYR have some major assets and seem like they are the likely choice but why hasn't it happened yet is my question.

I'm all for "breaking a few eggs" to get Nash, but I wouldn't trade Helm. He's brings a lot to this team, especially during the playoffs.

people on this board are the just the worst kind of homers

filpulla is a UFA next year and he's viewed by management as part of the teams core. So basically he's 100% more valuable to this team than to any other.

Franzen is only valuable to teams that are in win now mode.

Players who figure to be healthy scratches this year DO NOT have much value.

The Wings package for any player would basically be picks or youngish prospects and maybe a guy or two like Tatar. Of the current roster the only guy I could see being enticing to the BJs would be Helm and Abdelkator.

The funny thing is our strongest trade chips are on defence, the wings need to keep them of-coarse, but its ironic when you read all the dome and gloom on these boards.

Columbus could do way better than that deal even with Howson's demands. Franzen has 60 years left on his deal, Mursak is a 4th liner and Tatar is a promising yet completely unproven commodity.

Columbus may come down on the return for Nash, but not that far. Especially for the Red Wings.

At this point I would just assume that Nash is never coming to Detroit. The asking price is still too high and the team has other needs to address. He would add offense, but isn't a standout on defense and has too many years left on his contract.

Columbus wants 2 NHL ready forwards for Nash....Franzine I think would qualify as more than NHL "ready." Mursak and Tatar are BOTH NHL ready...add the 1st round to sweetin the pot because we are within the Central....No brainer on both sides... Kenny BETTER be freakin desperate for a big name top 6 forward...and the three guys going to CMH is not too expensive...Franzine needs a change of scenery in order to allow him to enjoy himself again....Nash is just what the doctor ordered for Detroit. It's the same as the Bobby Ryan proposal, get either of these two guys here and it makes Detroit that much more attractive for the likes of Doan, Gezlaf, Perry and Weber. If Detroit traded for Nash (or Ryan) and signed Doan (3yrs) then imagine what the team would look like if you added Weber on D next off season and one of Perry or Geztlaf... That would make this teams's core, along with Dats, Z & Fil one of, if not the best in the NHL...potentially your roster would look like this:

Nash - Datsyuk - Nyquist

Doan - Zetterberg - Perry

Brunner - Filppula - Samuelsson

Tootoo - Helm - Abdelkader

(/Bertuzzi/Emmerton/Eaves)

Kronwall - Weber

Quincey - Smith

Ericsson - White

That's all assuming that Howson would accept that offer. I think Franzen is the only piece of that trade that CBJ would want from the Wings. One (arguably) bad contract for another. The rest is well... surely one of those 5 other teams can and will do better than Tatar and Mursak. Plus, Holland can't keep giving up these 1st round picks. I've never seen anything from Nash to make me believe that he's more than a one-dimensional, somewhat selfish forward.

That would be awesome. I have said it many times. Importance of Nash is not only on score sheet. He will help the Wings reestablish that elite status. Detroit will be more attractive for future UFAs and new hockey talent, and of course the loyal Red Wings fans.

By the sounds of it Howson is in no rush to trade Nash. Obviously. Interesting to see (IF) the season starts and Nash isn't traded to see how Nash plays. I don't know what to think anymore. When someone to me says they at least want 2 NHL ready players. To me that means guys that have probably played at least 2-3 NHL seasons and more importantly with (some success).

Howson maybe forced to go for a significant discount to make this trade happen. I don't think this situation in Columbus is any good for their team. Therefore they have to be more cooperative, and they will.
