Getting rid of some of that stuff is enough to help him feel even better. Glad he's doing well.

Good news

Thankfully in today's modern medicine there are a lot more success stories like this one.

I got home late last night. The extubation Fri AM was huge. They took several other tubes out Fri PM and he was sitting up talking. Things are looking good for him now. Thanks so much to everyone for the prayers, posts, pm's, and positive thoughts. It was an exhausting week for me, so I'm likely to be vegetative until I have to play organ tomorrow morning.

Great news, Scott. Enjoy your rest, and visit with your dad. Tell him to keep up the good work, and get out of there as soon as he can. Take care! xo, loooo

Another update. I am back home in Montrose since last Friday night, but yesterday they took the rest of the tubes out of Dad and he was out of the bed, sitting in the chair and eating solid food and his personality was back to normal.

One more update. They moved Dad out of the cardiac intensive care unit into the physical rehab wing about an hour ago. He's looking great in the pics Mom texted me, and he has been making good progress with moving around using his walker. Thanks again for the prayers and positive thoughts.

He had a small setback today - some fluid in his chest and chest pain in the morning, but when I was able to talk to Mom after teaching in-service, she said it was getting better and he might go back into the rehab wing again tomorrow afternoon.
